Nevermind. I used to have Chrissy Holidays at Noraville, not far from The Entrance. I'm really showing my age when I say we used to catch a train to Wyong (or was it Woy Woy?) and then catch a STEAM TRAIN to The Entrance (I think). I remember getting soot on my dress. It was blissful. We used to stay in a house that had the whole beach as the back yard. Now that I'm old and not enamored of walking upright anymore, prone being my favorite past time, I adore beach vacations. My two favorites - at the mo - are the beaches of Nice and Hawaii. Hawaii, especially, has the wonderful combination of balmy breezes, massive Mai Tai's, shave ice and jumbo shrimp from the shrimp trucks on the side of the stretches of road. I just love to relax and to me that's sleeping in with the ocean breeze coming in through the window, plopping myself on the beach, having drinks under a banyan tree and watching the waves and reading. Lots of sleeping. And watching for the Pinta and the Santa Maria. --Linda in Sunny California!Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07442132140729441219noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3815530646091177574.post-2151436476998525732008-02-03T19:30:00.000-05:002008-02-03T19:30:00.000-05:00Hey everyone, I think we may need to do a little i...Hey everyone, I think we may need to do a little intervention and get Anna off the blogs and back to writing. Although we've had such a soggy summer, they're thinking of changing the name to the Damp Destination. It's beautiful too! How interesting about standing between two oceans. I did this in the far south of Western Australia at Augusta - on one side was the Indian Ocean (the Rottnest picture gives you an idea of this) and on the other was the Southern Ocean. I swear they were completely different. The Indian ocean, even this far south still had a touch of nirvana about it. The Southern Ocean looked like it wanted to kill us - it comes straight up from Antarctica. It's freezing, it's rough, it's gray. Not sure I'd want to do too much swimming but the sand is pure white and goes forever and the water is a gorgeous opal colour when the weather is nice.
