Easter Egg Hunt--Bandita Style!

Happy Easter everyone!

Easter. A celebration of spring, a celebration of faith, a chance to test our BB's and Banditas.

I'm sticking with the traditional vision of the Easter Bunny. Poor boy is plum worn out from traveling the world despositing Peeps, Reese Peanut Butter Cups and Baby Binks on everyone's hips...er, in their Easter baskets. And he hasn't forgotten the eggs. He's hidden them out and about. But they are not your run of the mill Paas colored eggs. Nope, our bunny has an eggs for Banditas, BB's and Lair guests. Your job is to collect as many as you can. Tell me who the egg belongs to, where you found it and what it looked like.

Banditas, as per the Lair house rules, you may guess but are ineligible for the prize. You can "egg" our visitors with cheers and additional hints or...you may find one the bunny forgot but the Golden Egg is for the player with the most correct eggs. Now...for the first batch.

This egg's owner can tell us "The ABC's of Kissing Boys."

Didn't win a Golden "Egg" in San Francisco last year...but a Golden Heart instead.

Hosted a Bandit Raid on this popular romance website.

This egg is "Better than Bulletproof"

Could read about how to dye eggs in a rare book...if she could get past the dead bodies.

This egg would be fearless...after riding 100 mph on a motorcycle, going through survival training and visiting the target range.

Chocolate eggs are nice for this one...but turtles are her specialty!

Easter eggs are nice but this person would prefer doughnuts.

These Irish twin brothers might serve pickled Easter eggs in their pub in Cornwall

This egg will meet a RITA this year

Ok...now scamper off. Don't mess up your Easter clothes. Search high and low and ....NO Tawny...they are not hidden in the cabana boy's pockets!

Ahem, there will be more eggs as the day goes on. The bunny will keep a tally of correct answers. Only the FIRST answers by the first people will be counted i.e. if someone guesses correct, they get an egg in their basket and another one will be hidden. The basket with the most correct ones by 10 pm wins a $10 Borders gift card (HINT: They sell Dove eggs there). In the case of a tie, the GR has the final vote.

And oh gosh >.< the Easter Hunt. I remember one year (last year?) I spent a terribly long time on this. Like... :X 4-6 hours? More? (So yes I took breaks, but still!)

    Happy Easter, everyone! :D

  6. GREAT POST, Joanie!

I LURVE an Easter egg hunt, esp. when *I* know where most of the eggs are hidden. ;-)

WTG on nabbing the GR, Virginia, and I know you got at least a couple of those eggs correct, but I'm leaving it to Joanie to tell you which ones. Meanwhile, I'm off to help Tawny frisk the cabana boys just in case they happen to be hiding anything in their pockets. (big evil grin)

    ReplyDelete
  8. Uh oh! Tawny's got her camera. This could cost me a fortune in chocolate and cute shoes...

Oh Aunty... I'm pretty sure thats not his pockets you're 'frisking' in this picture.

Although he doesn't seem to mind *g*

    ReplyDelete
  12. Chocolate and cute shoes are on offer? Where's my camera?!

    Happy Easter everybody!

Virginia, congrats on the pesky rooster - I'm sure he won't be interested in eggs *g*.

  16. Hippity Hop Virginia! Congrats on the GR!

And you have one egg right, the first to guess #5 was our own Kate Carlisle and her Homicide in Hardcover!

A quick hint: These eggs can belong to Banditas, BB's AND any of our guests from the past 3 months or so

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ah, Treethyme...so close and yet...so not there :-)

Cheer up, there are plenty of eggs hidden around.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Happy Easter to you too flchen!

It's really cool...ok cold here this morning in KY. Makes wearing cute heeled sandals to work challenging!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Limecello, your memory is better than mine! I didn't remember us doing this last year. Darn, and here I thought I'd been original.

    Pass me another PEEP....

    ReplyDelete
  20. PinkPeony,

Happy Easter and goodness...I don't know the exact geneology of the Bunster's eggs. I always thought they came from "magic" fowl....

    ReplyDelete
  21. Now Aunty and Tawny...you must control yourselves around the boys....don't make me resort to having them take those pants off...to avoid..yanno...pocket inspections.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hi Jane!

Happy Easter! I saved a chocolate cabana boy...er, I mean bunny just for you!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Well, Minna you are one industrious Easter chick. You got FIVE eggs right!

Tina Ferreo visited the Lair to talk about her book "The ABC's of Kissing Boys"

Bandita Susan Sey won the Golden Heart in SF

Kay Thomas visited us to talk about her Bulletproof Series

Helen Scott Taylor had us all looking forward to her debut novel The Magic Knot

and Christine Wells is nominated for a RITA this year!

    Well done.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Happy Easter Anna!

Virginia, congrats on the pesky rooster - I'm sure he won't be interested in eggs *g*.

Oh, he's very interested in eggs. It's a constant burden to the GR...all those paternity suits...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Happy Easter to you too, Christine...whose name will soon be RITA :-)

Hope the little ones enjoyed their treats.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hi Helen!

You've got 1 egg! PJ is the BB whose specialty is chocolate turtles.....

Pop some bunny ears on those puppies PJ and stuff some baskets!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Scanning the Lair...I see more eggs out there:

    1. This egg is NOT Afraid of Happy Endings

    2. This egg should surrender...wearing lace

    3. Lady HotDayum's egg

    4. This egg runs on the Mayan calander

5 This egg is inspirational...and attends law enforcement weddings

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh, and don't forget....we want to hear:

What the eggs you find look like and WHERE you found them....

    ReplyDelete
  29. Limecello,

I blame it on the sugar high.

You got number 8 correct. Our own Kirsten has a real THING for doughunts...glazed, iced, sprinkled.

While several of you got close on #3 not the answer I was looking for and #6 is up for grabs.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Happy Easter!

I see some of the eggs have already been found. Let's see if I can uncover a few more.

    3. Marisa and Maria hosted a Bandit raid at RNTV.

    6. I'm going to guess KJ Howe as the fearless one.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 1. Joanna D'Angelo is not afraid of Happy Endings.

    3. Lady Hot Dayum is Louisa Cornell.

    4. Jessica Andersen

    ReplyDelete
  32. 2. This is a tough one. Jane Graves (Tall Tales & Wedding Veils) for wearing lace?

    ReplyDelete
  33. What a fun idea...and thanks for the shout-out! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Happy Easter PJ!

    You're pretty good.

You are correct/Marisa and Maria hosted us on RNTV, Louisa IS Lady Hotdayum and Jessica Anderson guested about her Mayan based paranormal series.

And alas, no to Jane Graves though "THANK YOU" she is a great lady. Her egg "might" show up later :-)

    Three eggs for you!

Now, what did Lady Hotdayum's egg look like and where did you find it?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hey Tina!

    You're welcome.

Now tell us..what did YOUR egg look like?

    ReplyDelete
  36. What a fun Easter egg hunt, Joan! Go, you!

Congratulations, Virginia! Ah, Treethyme, apparently you'll have to be quicker on the draw.

Okay, I'm off to read the guesses and see if I can add any answers. I know some for certain, but others -- yikes, I may have to look back over the previous posts!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Joanie, does that mean Joanna and KJ are wrong answers?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Virginia, I'm pretty sure The ABC's of Kissing Boys is Aunty Cindy's friend Tina Ferraro's YA book, although it definitely sounds like a title our Tawny would use LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  39. 2. Surrender wearing lace...Suzanne Welsh?

    ReplyDelete
  40. LOL, Limecello! Thanks for the compliment, but you'd never see me anywhere NEAR a motorcycle.

Okay, I'm going from JoMama to Granny on a Harley as my moniker.

My oldest son had a serious motorcycle accident when he was 20 (before the helmet law) and they now freak me out.

Survival training and target range -- ah, that's gotta be Cassondra -- or Jeanne -- hmmm.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Ooooh, Joanie, that second bunch of questions is HARD!

I'm not even gonna try. I'll have to look them up.

    Anyone else game to try?

    ReplyDelete
  42. 6. Okay, if KJ is wrong then my next guess would be Cassondra.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I have one more guess waiting in the wings after Cassondra then I'm officially stumped.

You're really good at hiding those eggs, Joanie!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Jo - whoops! And ack I hope everything ended up ok... you threw me off with your "Things That Go Boom" post :X

    ReplyDelete
  45. Joannie - Those eggs are well hidden!!! Tough clues. Good Luck to all the hunters.

Off now to make deviled eggs & carrot cake.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Go PJ! You are doing great! Some of these eggs are impossible to find.

My egg had six pack abs and a loincloth! PJ found it in Demetrius's pocket. I'll let her tell you exactly where that pocket was located and how much fuss he kicked up!

    ReplyDelete
  47. 1. Tina Ferraro
    2. Susan Seyfarth
    3. Marisa and Maria (at RNTV)
    4. Kay Thomas
    5. Kate Carlisle
    6. KJ Howe?
    7. PJ
    8. Kirsten Scott
    9. Helen Scott Taylor
    10. Christine Wells

    1a. Joanna D'Angela
2a. This egg should surrender...wearing lace ... Madeline Hunter?
    3a. Louisa Cornell ???
    4a. Jessica Anderson
    5a. Debby Giusti
... this is going to drive me crazy :P

    ReplyDelete
  48. I need a hint on the lace one please (I think everyone does?) I admit to clicking back to posts from October 2008. >.<

    ReplyDelete
  49. Zooming in for a minute before my brother gets impatient. He's buying me a knockout rose bush for my bday.

You're right PJ...I totally glance over your second group of answers. Joanna is correct. While our KJ IS fearless...she's not who that egg belongs to....

    So now you have 4

Will be back shortly to give out more hints

    ReplyDelete
  50. 1. Joanna D'Angelo

    3. Louisa Cornell

    4. Jessica Andersen

    ReplyDelete
  51. LOL, Limecello, a good red herring, huh? I do LIKE watching and reading about things that go boom, but I don't like speed myself. Or danger. Or risk. I'm just a wiennie!

    ReplyDelete
  52. For the second batch of eggs, maybe you should check the sidebar of the blog instead of the posts themselves... Aunty is just sayin...

And yes, Louisa, one never knows WHERE a pocket might be located, esp. on a gladiator! ;-)

    AC
who has commandeered the camera and now has some interesting shots of her own involving Tawny, VA and a hockey puck...

    ReplyDelete
  53. Virginia, congrats on grabbing the rooster! Treethyme, better luck next time.

Joanie, a fun game. And gorgeous egg photos. I don't think I can guess them all, but I've enjoyed reading everyone's answers.

So PJ did a pocket inspections on a gladiator? Hmm.

The egg that runs on the Mayan calendar--pretty sure I know that one, but we'll see if anyone gets it.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Joanie, this is way fun! A Bandita-style easter egg hunt! Complete with cabana boys to help gather the eggs for us. Well, and mix drinks, of course. I think a Ramos gin fizz is my choice for this gorgeous spring morning. Heavy on the fizz, boys!

Awww Joanie, that's so cute that you found a Katie egg. :-)

Er, not that that's a clue or anything. ;-)

    Congrats, Virginia!

LOL Treethyme! Dagnabbit, that made me laugh!

    ReplyDelete
  55. LOL Louisa!!! What a lovely place for your egg to be hiding! But where, exactly, is Demetrius' pocket?? Snork!

    ReplyDelete
  56. OOPS! I see PJ got the answer to 2a (the surrender in lace) WITHOUT my hint! WTG, PJ!

Has no one guessed the fearless egg yet? I'm incredulous!

    AC
who will also take a gin fizz, heavy on the fizz... GREAT idea, Kate!

    ReplyDelete
  57. The egg that runs on the Mayan calendar--pretty sure I know that one, but we'll see if anyone gets it.

I got that one, Nancy. It's Jessica Andersen. I'm sure you already knew that. (grin)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Ya'll are doing a good job!

PJ, you guessed first and found Suzanne Welsh's egg in honor of her award winning mss. "The Surrender of LACY Morgan" Um...I'd LOVE to know what that one was wearing..or not :-)

So out of 15 eggs hidden only 2 are left of this batch.

Hint on #6 This egg would use a gun..if it had arms...in W.V.

Hint on #5 The groom of this wedding would wear a star...it's the law...in the 1800's

    ReplyDelete
  59. I'll never tell, Kate! I wonder if PJ had as much fun finding that egg as I had hiding it? Oh, Demetrius, where are you?

    ReplyDelete
  60. LOL, I'D like to know where the pockets are on a gladiator too!!!

Demetrius just usually wears that loincloth...no pockets necessary
    :-)

Wish I had him hear to PLANT the rosebush for me!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Has no one guessed the fearless egg yet? I'm incredulous!

I have another guess but am waiting for Joanie to tell me if my guess of Cassondra is right or wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Ok, there's some tall grass, a ROSEbush or two and a trail of party favors left after the last launch party. Come on people! Use your imaginations in where to look!

    Batch #3

    1. This egg would be Bedeviled

    2. This egg risks being mistaken for a truck nut

    3. This egg just had two new "chicks" hatched out this spring...down under.

    4. Couldn't touch this egg..according to the readers in Oz

    5. The Boss of this egg has a bedroom plan

    6. If this egg went down hard...it would crack!

    7. This egg is hard to hold onto...too much massage oil

    8. This egg better watch its yolk as it "breaksthrough" the Amazon

    ReplyDelete
  63. Hooray PJ!!!!

    You got it!!!!

I bet our bud p226 has never been called that before, LOL.

Maybe he'll change his screen name to "The Fearless Egg"

    :-)

    P? You out there?

    ReplyDelete
  64. Batch #3

    1. Maureen Child
    2. Cassondra

    ReplyDelete
  65. Whoa, PJ...your basket is filling up fast! You have 9 eggs!

Yes to Renee, Maureen and Cassondra!

I'm going to have to dig into the reserve eggs from last year...hmmmmm

Oh, and some people MIGHT have had more than one egg I'm just sayin'

    ReplyDelete
  66. Make that 10

So tell us where are you FINDING these eggs?

    ReplyDelete
  67. Y'all wouldn't believe just how creative those gladiators can get with their pocket placement! Of course, said pockets are very tight so I had to do some "creative" exploring before I was able to find Louisa's egg (wink) but I must say, Demetrius was most cooperative! (vbg)

    ReplyDelete
  68. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I had to look UP for Maureen's egg. It's very sparkly covered in that gold demon dust and led me on a merry chase before I was able to finally nab it. Seems Maggie isn't the only one floating through the air these days.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yay, Joan, I saw myself on the list with the breakthrough thing.

    And Virginia's two new chickies!

    Good clues!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Virginia, congratulations! I think he might be a bit hyper after helping JT set up the Easter Egg hunt all day yesterday. Treat him kindly!

JT, what a brilliant contest! You're so clever - no wonder those gladiators bow down in awe to you! And I'm not sure it's the pockets of the cabana boys we need to worry about with that naughty Tawny!

    ReplyDelete
  72. ... I give up :P can't compete with PJ - but Happy Easter, everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Don't give up, Limecello! I don't have a clue about some of the ones in Batch 3!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Hey Limecello, don't bug out on me now....PJ's giving me a run too...trying to stay ahead of her, LOL

Yes, it's a wonder you were able to hold onto Sven's egg at all...bet he'd give you a shoulder rub from all the work gathering your eggs :-)

Tawny's egg did go down hard but those free range chickie eggs are durable.

And JoMama is a finalist in the Amazon Breakthrough contest...better breaking THERE than with the eggs...ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Popping in to say Happy Easter, everyone! Most excellent post today, Joanie! Glad to see everyone having fun...

And wow, I am an Easter Egg today, whoowhoo!!

    ReplyDelete
  76. There is still #3 and #5 of Batch 3 waiting to be found.

    Batch #4

    1. This egg is invisible...at certain times of the day

    2. This egg might be "scotched"...as the French and the Natives aren't into easter eggs.

3 This egg would probably provide a link to something on the net

4.This egg might sport red hair...and feel out of place

    5. This egg is always jetting off to some exotic locale...proving she's golden x 2

    ReplyDelete
  77. Wow, Joanie, some of these are hard! I did get two of those in batch #4, though!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Whoa, hats (appropriately decorated with flowers and feathers and such) off to you egg-nabbers! What fun, Joan!

    ReplyDelete
  79. I needed a little help finding p226's egg. The dogs and I were out walking when a motorcycle zoomed by and the rider (was that you, JT?) lobbed something round and green our way. My first thought was to duck but Smokey darted in front of me, deftly catching the object in her mouth as only a dog with 13 years of tennis ball catching experience can do. Luckily, I got hold of it before she started to chew. lol! Turns out it was a camouflage Easter egg. Only one person that could belong to!

    ReplyDelete
  80. The dogs and I were out walking when a motorcycle zoomed by and the rider (was that you, JT?) lobbed something round and green our way.

LOL, nah, that wasn't me. I'm the one who is NOT fearless.

Ok maybe when I make the gladiators show me all their hidden pockets. One by one. :-)

    Oops...found another. Lucien..you naughty boy...

Glad it was a cameflouge egg and not a grenade!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Hi Joan
Happy Easter and thanks so much for including BETTER THAN BULLETPROOF in your Bandita Easter egg hunt. I wish I could decorate my eggs like that...did the GR do those himself? They are lovely!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Wow PJ, you're tearing it up!! Good job finding Sven! LOL

Joanie, you're fabulous at Easter egg hints!!

    Can I play?
Is #3 Helen? I found it near the Tim Tam display at the local tea shoppe. :-)

And in Batch 4, is #1 Donna's Moonlight? That one was hard to find because it's, ya know, invisible half the time!

    ReplyDelete
  83. This is fun I am awake now and have just read thru the comments

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOANIE

    From batch 4
    5 I think is K J Howe

    From batch 3
    3 I think is me

    Have Fun
    Helen

    ReplyDelete
  84. Hi Kay!

Those eggs are the ones awaiting paternity tests...between you and me, I think their beauty alone shows the GR's genes are in play
    :-)

My favs are the glossy ones.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Kate,

So what were you doing by the Tim Tam display when there is all this Easter candy around....

well...it was here a minute ago.

    Yes, #3 of /batch 3 is our own Helen and yup on Donna's egg. First it's there..then it's not..then it's there..

Oh, that could go on all night.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Helen!

Hooray! You're the one who pegged our KJ! God knows she's probably off in some deserted island....hey, where is cabana boy squad 413??

And that's you all right. BTW, saw piccies of your precious wee one on Facebook...too cute!

    ReplyDelete
  87. PJ, my guess and yours on the Mayan thing are the same. Jessica's coming back in August, just for everybody's information, to celebrate the release of Skykeepers.

Good for you getting p226! I didn't get it until it was revealed, but the motorcycle should've been a hint!

    ReplyDelete
  88. JT, I am amazed at all the clues you've come up with. The game wouldn't be nearly so much fun without cool-o clues!

    ReplyDelete
  89. JT you are a marvel! What a fabulous easter egg hunt! I'm glad the other Banditas and BBs have been around because I don't think I could have figured these all out...

Except for the doughnuts! I do love me some doughnuts! I blame it on my first pregnancy. I never used to eat them before that. Darn kids. They ruin everything! ;-)

Now, I'm off to bake some strawberry rhubarb crisp, prepare some brussell sprouts, and start the pumpkin bread baking. YUM!!

    Happy Easter everyone!!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Thanks Nancy but really the "cool" part is how we are one community here. I knew BB's would know things about other BB's, the Banditas would know about their guests.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Kristen,

I've been craving doughnuts ever since I put that clue out there!

    Darn 7 pts on WW

    ReplyDelete
  92. This has been lots of fun thanks for another great day in the Lair the Cabana boys have been fantastic again as well.

    Joanie
Yes my little babies are growing too quickley but are so cute and I do hope you have had a wonderful birthday what rose did you get they always have great names

    PJ
Well done you are great with the clues

    Have Fun
    Helen

    ReplyDelete
  93. Helen,

I got a rose/shrub called Knockout roses. Two pink and one a magenta color. Put them at the end of my garage.

Now need to figure out a green complimentary plant to put between them...yanno...for more easter egg hiding.

There are still 4 eggs outstanding. #5 from Batch 3 and 2-4 from Batch 4!

    ReplyDelete
  94. Here's the last batch...found the GR SITTING on them!

    Batch 5

    1. This egg would have a hard time as a hockey puck

    2. This egg is a bit on The Wild Si...um, Irish side

    3. This egg is Dark and Dangerous

    4. This egg is Super

    5. Could use the Lace and the shells are from a shot gun

    6. Friends! Romans! Lend me your eggs

    7. Firefighters take care of their family...and their eggs

    8. Every Time We...Crack an egg...yeah...Crack an egg

    ReplyDelete
  95. OK here goes with my guesses this time

    From batch 4

    2. Pamela Clare

This egg would have been hiden by Morgan

    4. Jaye Wells her Red Headed Stepchild would have been hiding this one

    Have Fun

  96. What a fun game, Joan! And it looks like lots of people are pulling themselves away from the Easter candy and family feasts to play. I look forward to seeing who wins.

  98. Wooooooo...the tension is mounting (which is hell on eggshells)

    Helen has 12

    PJ has 13

#5 of Batch 3 and #3 of Batch 4 are still unidentified.

    #5 of Batch 5 is up in the air (again, hell on eggshells)but can say that it might sing Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina in the mornin {North}

And Bonus egg: This egg's name could be Maggie

  109. It's been a blast, Helen!

Great clues, Joanie! Very creative! :)

  110. You got it! Batch 4 #3 is BB Minna!

    Questions remain...

Who is the mysterious #5 of Batch 3??

Is it the GR who has a Bedroom Agenda?

Or does Demetrius think he's the Boss?

Will KJ return cabana squad 413 to the Lair intact?

Will Tawny and AC PLEASE stop checking Sven's pockets!!!

  111. I am going to take a stab in the dark and say that the boss with the bedroom plan is Demetrius and not sure whether KJ will return squad 413 intact they maybe very tired and worn out and will need time to recoup.
With Tawny and Aunty Cindy man handling Sven so much he made need a good rest as well LOL

Joanie this has been so much fun I love the sound of your birthday roses not sure though whether there will be any of the lads capable of helping you plant them at the moment LOL

PJ way to go girl you are so good with the clues and Joanie the clues are great

    Have Fun
    Helen

  112. Oh, Demetrius has plans, Helen. A good gladiator ALWAYS has plans...

Pass the olive oil will you?

Thanks to everyone for playing today! PJ and Helen made it a contest to rival the Olympics!

PJ is the winner with 16 eggs and Helen with 12.

The last clue was Nicola Marsh who visited with The Boss's Bedroom Agenda.

    I'm due a lie down.
