Anyone Up For a Wild Weekend Meme?

Hey, is it a wild weekend again?!?! ALREADY?!?! WOW! This one kinda sneaked up on your old Aunty. Well, we had some fun last time with a "meme" Christine provided. So why not give it another whirl?

Bust out the cabana boys with the frosty drinks and answer these questions:

In honor of Easter... What did the Easter bunny bring you?

What is the farthest distance you've traveled from home?

What plot device makes you throw the book against the wall?

What GREAT book would you like to see made into a movie that hasn't been yet? And any casting suggestions?

And while we're on the subject of movies and casting, who would YOU cast as Stephanie Plum, Morelli, and Ranger?

Okay, Banditas, let's GET WILD!

I bought myself a chocolate bunny. All very suitable even with the Weight Watchers online. "Baby Binks" is hollow and only 2 oz. of milk chocolate. Needed it after my other "present"...finding out a very close family member had experienced a bad case of unrequited love. (sigh)...Pass more bunnies.

What is the farthest distance you've traveled from home?

Ireland. And not just in physical distance. From the first moment I landed there in 2002, I felt I had traveled back home...and probably from another lifetime. When I make it big in writing I'm buying the cottage next to Nora's in Co. Clare LOL

What plot device makes you throw the book against the wall?

I'm such a visceral writer that I have a hard time dissecting the process...hence mad last minute rush to finish TPF for this year's GH

Thinking purely along romance fiction lines, any of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series OR Karen Marie Moning's Fae men...Casting? Hmmmm....for DH Gerard Butler or that Welsh fellow from Arthur...

And while we're on the subject of movies and casting, who would YOU cast as Stephanie Plum, Morelli, and Ranger?

This is another Rourke type question isn't it. I've heard of Stephanie Plum but isn't Morelli a mushroom?

(Put those cabbages down!)

Q. In honor of Easter... What did the Easter bunny bring you?

A. Nothing really. I bought myself a couple of Cadbury's Easter eggs, which I really like.

Q. What is the farthest distance you've traveled from home?

A. Seattle, Washington

Q. What plot device makes you throw the book against the wall?

A. Deus ex machina

Q. What GREAT book would you like to see made into a movie that hasn't been yet? And any casting suggestions?

A. Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series and J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Can't think of casting right now.

Q. And while we're on the subject of movies and casting, who would YOU cast as Stephanie Plum, Morelli, and Ranger?

A. I've always thought Marisa Tomei for Stephanie, probably because of her role in My Cousin Vinny. The Rock for Ranger, and perhaps someone like Eric Bana for Joe Morelli. I have a hard time matching actors to these particular characters.

The book I'd love to see made into a movie is Audrey Neffenegger's (not sure that's spelled right) The Time Traveler. I understand that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston (pre-Angelina days) bought the rights. What I'm interested in seeing is how such a complex, time-hopping kind of book could translate to film. I'm thinking not, but who knows?

The Easter Bunny brought me an idea for how to fix the book with no plot. And believe me, I'm ENORMOUSLY grateful! That counts as writer chocolate.

I've been to the Orkneys north of Scotland and Bergen in Norway. I suspect the Orkneys are further north. All my ancestors are from northern Europe - north Germany, Scotland, Denmark - and I seem to have this incredible yen for bleak northern scenery. It touches something inside me the lush gorgeous stuff doesn't, lovely as it is.

Never say never because a great writer can make ANYTHING work. But two plots I avoid are amnesia and twins. Although I've read good books that use both.

Books into movies? Actually I hate it when my favourite books turn into movies because I have a strong visual image and then it's destroyed by the actors.

Stephanie? I've got no idea. Morelli, definitely Eric Bana (yes, AC, I can hear you panting from here). Hey, Trish, just read your response and see you have the same though. He'd be just perfect, wouldn't he? Ranger - I've always thought Ice-T in SVU would make a great Ranger.

LOL, Trish!
We are definitely on the SAME WAVE LENGTH! I LOVED "My Cousin Vinny", one of my fave movies of all time. And The Rock was MY CHOICE for Ranger (along with Queen Latifah for Lula) when some friends and I were discussing this very question. However, my sister's suggestion of Vin Diesel as Ranger has a lot of merit too. ;-)

I think Drew Barrymore would make a good Stephanie, because she's really very good at physical comedy. And as for Morelli, while I think Colin Farrell would be good, I'd NEVER ARGUE with casting EB in ANY ROLE!!! (Including Henry VIII in the upcoming film version of "The Other Boelyn Girl")

What book would I like to see in a film? I'd LOVE to see the "In Death..." series, and even more the "Outlander" stories. However, as mentioned in Kate's previous post about heroes, can't think of ANYONE who could adequately portray Roarke or Jamie (though of course, EB could TRY and I won't complain)...

The farthest distance I've traveled from home? Well, you all know Aunty is a gad-about... hahahaha! I know the longest plane ride was to Bangkok, Thailand -- 11 hours to Tokyo then another 6 to Bangkok -- UGH! LOVELY city, however. I HIGHLY recommend it. But actual distance from my home here in California might be Istanbul, Turkey. I'm not sure because that trip was done in chunks. First I went to NYC. Then I flew to Athens for a couple of days before going on to Istanbul (which is also a FABULOUS place and I HIGHLY recommend it!), so it didn't seem as far as the very long flight to Bangkok (though the 14 uninterrupted hours to Sydney was close).

And you are WRONG, Foanna! That panting is not me. The moaning and drooling however, IS!

In honor of Easter... What did the Easter bunny bring you? The Flu. Enough said.

What is the farthest distance you've traveled from home? Reno NV for the 2005 RWA convention.

What plot device makes you throw the book against the wall?
I don't know if it's a plot device, but history dumps or backstory dumps will make me toss a book.

What GREAT book would you like to see made into a movie that hasn't been yet? And any casting suggestions? Saving Grace by Julie Garwood. Not sure on casting, but the heroine would have to have beauty, brains and brass balls.

Don't hit me, but I've not read the Stephanie Plum series, so I can't vote, but any movie with the Rock as a character get my vote!
