A Sparkling Seasonal Line-Up!

posted by Christine Wells

How did December get here so fast? Never fear, we have a fabulous program lined up to warm the cockles of your heart this holiday season!

First up, on 2 December, Suz and Jo Davis take us on a field trip to Station Five to chat with Jo's incredible firefighters. A most... educational excursion, ladies! And there are some fabulous prizes to be won!

Then, on December 3, Silhouette author Bonnie Vanak makes her first appearance in the Lair. Our in-depth reporter, Nancy, interviews Bonnie about her fabulous shifter romances.

On December 6, warn the cabana boys because it's Party Time as our very own New York Times bestseller, Kate Carlisle launches her second Silhouette Desire, SWEET SURRENDER, BABY SURPRISE! RT Book Reviews says it's "Sweepingly romantic and startlingly sexy" and The Romance Reviews calls it "A tender romance with mass appeal." Wow!

Join us for something a little different on December 7 when Dorie Graham chats with Nancy about creative intelligence. I'm really looking forward to that, as "creative intelligence" sometimes seems like an oxymoron when applied to yours truly!

And Deck the Halls, because December 13 rings in our third annual 12 days of Christmas, with fun giveaways and more!

But that's not all, because on December 16 the lovely Anna Campbell will chat with debut author Elizabeth Essex about her sizzling new release, The Pursuit of Pleasure!

And now, just for a bit of Aussie flavour, let me leave you with a Christmas carol they sing at my son's kindergarten:

Christmas where the gum trees grow
There is no frost and there is no snow
Christmas in Australia's hot
Cold and frosty's what it's not
When the bloom on the Jacaranda tree is here
Christmas time is near!

Totally cute song....my 3 year old has come home with little ditties I've never heard of, although they are kind of catchy :)

Happy December. It's my favorite time of the year and looks like we'll be having some fun here.

Congrats on the GR, Fedora.

Christine Wells said...

Happy December to you too, Fedora! Looks like the GR is coming to your house again!

Christine Wells said...

Cath, does your 3 year old like the Wiggles? Now those are catchy tunes! Can't get them out of my head!

Christine Wells said...

Jane, it is a lovely time of year, isn't it? I'm going to crank up the Christmas carols tonight!

well done Fedora enjoy him... don't make him work too hard

Supposed to be the first day of summer in Sydney... it is cold and been the wettest day for 70 years....I have never heard that carol, Christine but it applies to downunder... looking forward to all the December blogs

What another awesome month ahead I am soo looking forward to Jo's new book and Sean's story. Some awesome guests coming along and of course Kate's new book YAY.

And yes as Barbara has already said the first day of summer down under and it poured all day and was a bit cool LOL

Love the words to that song Jayden comes home singing different nursey rhymes from pre school as well. I need to get so much done before Christmas and I am off to see The Eagles on Monday night looking forward to that

Have Fun
Helen

I can't believe December is finally here. Where did this year go??? Looks like another fun month in the Lair!

Fun times in the lair! Looks like another terrific line-up this month. Thanks, Bandits!

Congrats, Fedora!

What a cute song! Shary (yes, me, too) watched The Wiggles when she was little. It's too bad about Greg being too ill to perform.

No snow here in Iowa yet (dusting of it yesterday), but bitterly cold with a windchill of 0 F. After the last two winters of record snowfalls (56 and 54 inches respectively), this is weird not having any major amounts of snow. This time last year we had 8 inches from the first of November and it didn't leave until the first part of April.

Whooo hoooo, what a great December lineup! It'll be exciting to have old faves and new guests.

Kate Carlisle said...

You had me at firefighters! ;-)

Thanks for giving us the lineup, Madame. Your son's Christmas song is so cute!!

It's going to be a fabulous month in the Lair! And wait 'til y'all see the fun prizes and goodies we're giving away during our Twelve Days of Christmas celebration!

Helen, I'm so jealous of you going to see the Eagles! I hope you'll report back on the concert highlights.

Congrats on snatching the Golden One, Fedora!

Anna Sugden said...

What do you mean it's December already?!

Mind you, with the snow outside it could easily be February *brrr*.

What a hot line-up in the Lair this month! I know it's always hot with the cabana boys, the hockey hunks, the gladiators and of course our lovely dragon ... but December looks extra special.

Becke Davis said...

Happy December! I got a sneak preview of Jo Davis' new one and it's a scorcher! Looking forward to reading the others on your list!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey everyone...uh...let me put down the nail polish. Sprucing up for the field trip tomorrow. Wonder if the guys are too?

Sven, no swearing! Even in Swedish!! I swear I won't bring back any of the firefighters...although that new guy is rather tempting...

December is going to be such fun y'all! And wait til you see the prizes this month!

Nancy said...

Christine, I love that Aussie holiday song! Great job pulling all this together. December is always a fun month in the Lair.

Fedora, congrats on the bird!

Dorie Graham gave a talk to my local chapter on different kinds of intelligence, and I thought it was fascinating.

I met Bonnie Vanak at National last year and saw her again at M&M this fall. She has a wide range of interests, and I think we'll have fun with these two guests.

Christine Wells said...

Barb, I know! Isn't this weather utterly ridiculous? It's fairly humid here but raining. I suppose I shouldn't be complaining but I'm still waiting for swimming weather!

Christine Wells said...

Daz, you wait until you see the prizes we have in store! So exciting!

Christine Wells said...

Helen, I'm so jealous of you going to The Eagles! You'll have to tell us all about it when you get home. Do you think they'll do carols?

Christine Wells said...

Hi Gannon! Hi PJ! Great to see you here!

Christine Wells said...

You know, Deb, I really miss Greg from the Wiggles. It's just not the same without him. I imagine their touring schedule is pretty gruelling though. They've kept it up for such a long time, too.

I hope you get some lovely snow up there in time for Christmas!

Christine Wells said...

Jo, it's always nice to see our old friends return, isn't it? Jo Davis and her firefighters always show our readers a good time.

Christine Wells said...

Kate, we are all looking forward to partying for your next release!

Yes, that's a cute song. I'm not so enamoured of the one that says something like Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells Christmas Time is beaut! And then something about Santa driving a rusty Holden Ute! Ute is the Oz slang for a utility truck. Sigh. I much prefer the more refined allusion to white Christmases and so forth!

Christine Wells said...

VA, stay warm over there! It seems the weather this December is going a bit haywire all over the world. Do you usually get snow at this time of year?

Christine Wells said...

Ooh, Becke! Lucky you to get a preview of Jo's latest! Lovely to see you!

Christine Wells said...

Hey, Karyn! Stay tuned for all the great prizes we have lined up!

Christine Wells said...

Suz, haha, Sven and one of Jo's boys... It would be like fire and ice, wouldn't it? Looking forward to some sizzling fun tomorrow!

Christine Wells said...

Thanks, Nancy! There's another verse to that song that has Santa diving in a swimming pool to keep cool.

Nancy, you always put together great interviews. I'm looking forward to your guests. They sound fascinating.

Nancy said...

Christine, thanks. I hope you'll post that other verse sometime this month.

Christine Wells said...

Nancy, I'll have to ask my boys. I can't remember how it goes! But yes, I'll post it later on:)

Louisa Cornell said...

He's back in your arms, Fedora!

Love that little song, Christine! How cute!!

There were tornadoes in our area yesterday and today it is windy and icy cold. Love Alabama in the winter.

But it looks like the Lair will keep me warm all December!

I have been watching Christmas movies since Thanksgiving and will continue to do so. It helps to keep me in the Christmas spirit after a long day at Walmart. This is NOT a fun season to work retail!

Bonnie Vanak said...

Hi there. Just wanted to pop in and say I'm very excited to be visiting your lair and looking forward to Dec. 3 and special thanks to Nancy for the invite. And that I'm saying hello to Barb from Sydney... I don't know you, but wow, I LOVE your country and keep vowing that some day, I'm going down under! (Plus Anna is such a fun person, I met her at RWA in 2009 in DC. Ask her to tell the White House tour purse story some day!)

I almost moved there after college with a friend from Norway, but got stuck in Florida. Some day!

Also, I'll be giving away a copy of my first Nocturne, The Empath.

Have a great rest of the week!

Christine Wells said...

Louisa, those firefighters are sure to warm you up! Great to see you here and I hope the weather gets better there in Alabama!

Beth Andrews said...

Happy December! I can't believe it's the the beginning of the last month of 2010. I just got used to writing the year on my checks :-)

As usual, we have a wonderful line-up for the month! And I just received confirmation that Harlequin Superromance author Holly Jacobs will be with us on the 19th to discuss her latest release *g*

Christine Wells said...

Hi Bonnie! Great to see you here and we're all looking forward to your guest spot.

Oh, you must come to Australia one day--maybe for an RWOz conference? Then you could get a tax deduction right? We'd love to have you!

Christine Wells said...

LOL, Beth, I know what you mean about just getting used to writing 2010 and then it's gone!

Wow, I can't wait for Holly's guest day. Thanks so much for inviting Holly along.
