I even love the sound of SPRING coming on the 20 of the month. I am so tired of winter!

Congrats on the GR, Virgina.

I'm ready for Spring, too, but we're scheduled for more snow this week. Looking forward to another fun month at the lair.

As a more recently reader at Romance Bandits, how did the "Rooster" come to be the prize for the first commenter? (Is it as obvious as the first to get up and read it?) By the way, roosters are sacred in Hawaii … tourists are amazed to see them in the mountains and even in the Wal-Mart parking lot!

I am logging on at 12 am in Hawaii (5 am EST) so I am amazed that several readers on the mainland have already left comments. Reading blogs helps me unwind after a hectic day ... and it is taking me longer after the Tsunami Scare yesterday. All is well in Hawaii - but it taught us all to be prepared!

And looks like Romance Bandits are prepared for a Fabulous March!

Wow, ladies, another fabulous month here at the Lair. Looking forward to all the author visits!! Hopefully March will bring some warmer weather to those of us in the States. I'm SO ready for spring!

Gannon Carr said...

I see we have another stellar month here in the Lair--I'd expect nothing less! *g*

I'm beyond ready for spring, but here in the mountains it can snow well into spring. I'm hoping that's not the case this year. For now, let's just say I'm looking forward to early summer!

Congrats, Virginia!

Susan Sey said...

Wow, Jo, sounds like a great month! As if I don't already yearn for march just as a reward for surviving february. Now I have all this to look forward to?? Yay!

Kirsten said...

Hi Jo! What an amazing line up! I swear, the Lair is the place TO BE! :-) Course, when it's sunny and warm, like it is in Portland, the garden's the real place to be. :-)

Nancy said...

Virginia, have fun with the bird!

We have a great month coming up. Of course I'm excited about my own guests, but everyone else's look great, too.

And Suz has been taunting me with how much I personally will like Addison Fox's book, so I'm glad I won't have to wait much longer to find out about it!*g*

Nancy said...

Hi, Helen--Sorry about the rain, but I'm glad your weather is cooling off. We're in for clear but cold this week, and I'm happy to see the sunshine.

Nancy said...

Jane, sorry about the snow. I hope it won't be too bad. The dh just got back from visiting his family in Colorado, and he had to wait for his brother to pick him up because his brother was busy plowing their dirt road.

Makes me glad snow that heavy rarely comes here.

Kirsten said...

Hey am I rubbing it in a bit with the whole garden thing? Poor Susan. And poor anyone living on the east coast. We've just had this incredibly warm winter, I can't quite get over it. This month my heating bill was less than my electric bill! It's crazy. The trees are leafing out, shrubs are blooming, and the daffodils are almost DONE blooming. It's wacky.

Nancy said...

Kim, yes, it's that simple. The first commenter of the day gets the Golden Rooster. If memory serves, our buddy Louisa Cornell first came up with the term, back when this blog was fairly new.

You'll also notice, over time, the gladiators (led by Demetrius and Marcus), who handle Lair security, the cabana boys (led by Sven), who handle drinks, food, massages, and so forth, and the hockey hunks (led by Zach), who fill in wherever they're needed. We also have a dragon, Ermingarde, though she hasn't come by lately (which could be good because she eats a lot and her flame breath tends to scorch the woodwork). Welcome to our imaginary world, complete with a growing array of imaginary friends. :-)

Nancy said...

Hi, Buffie and Gannon--I love spring, but I've become increasingly less fond of summer. Too hot, too humid. Uck.

But spring is lovely here.

Nancy said...

Susan, you have all this to look forward to, yes, and aren't we counting down to the release of your fabulous debut, Money, Honey?

Nancy said...

Kirsten, I envy your garden. My interaction with plants tends to be fatal for them, alas. And we're counting down to your debut, Delacroix Academy, too, aren't we?

jo robertson said...

Way to go, Virginia!!!

I had to put the spring date in. Even if it's not warm, maybe we'll "feel" like spring.

jo robertson said...

Hi, Kim. Glad you're safe in Hawaii. Roosters are "sacred"? How interesting.

Yes, the first commenter of the day gets our virtual (well, HE thinks he's real) golden rooster for the day. He's quite a wily fellow and came into being a la one of our Bandita Buddies.

jo robertson said...

Hi, Jane. Hi, Helen. Hi, Buffie.

Sounds like everyone is more than ready for spring.

Yes, we have a really nice line up for March. Yum, lots of new books to hear about!

jo robertson said...

Arrggghh, Gannon. Snow in spring? I can't bear the thought!

Hi Banditas Susan, Nancy, and Kirsten!

Banditas Foanna and Nancy has several guests. We're so lucky this month!

Anna Campbell said...

Wow, what a great lineup for March! Can't wait to meet all the special guests!

Virginia, congrats on the chook. He must like you ;-)

I'm really looking forward to autumn starting here - although it's arrived with really heavy rain. Next time you see me, I'll have webbed feet if this keeps up.

Deb said...

Marvelous Month of March for great guests!

Even though it is 8 degrees outside, the sun is peeking through the gray clouds, so that helps one to think of spring being 20 days away.

Pat Cochran said...

Great listing of guests for the
month! Looking forward to getting
to visit with them all!

Welcome to our imaginary world,

Imaginary? Um....

Demetrius...put some clothes on over that imaginary loincloth....

:-)

hrdwrkdmom aka Dianna said...

Oh Kim, please don't tell our Golden Rooster that he is sacred anywhere please, we have a hard enough time keeping him in line as it is.

We are going to have a wonderful time here in March. It is a special day today because it is my son's birthday. My baby boy is 20 years old today, and my daughter is almost 32. Oh my, I feel so old!

hrdwrkdmom aka Dianna said...

Wait, they can't be imaginary, I have pictures!

Gannon Carr said...

Nancy, you will love Addison's book! I finished it this weekend--my review will be up at The Romance Dish next Monday. One more day and you can read it yourself, and you won't have to worry about Suz or me taunting you. LOL

jo robertson said...

Dianna, congrats on your son's birthday! You're getting to be an empty nester now!

And, of course, you're way too "young" to have 32 yo.

jo robertson said...

Hi, Gannon! Hi, Joanie! Hi, Pat!

Deb, eight degrees!!?? Brrrrr, shiver me timbers!

jo robertson said...

Anna, autumn sounds lovely. We get our rain in the winter and I can't wait for it to be over! I do love me a little spring!

Loucinda McGary aka Aunty Cindy said...

YIPEE!! March is roaring into the Lair like a LION! What a great line up, and thanx for the post, Jo-Mama!

My son's bday is this month too, and I'm with you Dianna. I'm waaaay too young to have a child his age. After he turned 30 I told him to start lying about his age. ;-) So he's 29 yet again!

AC
not looking forward to the next rainstorm scheduled for Tues.

Nancy said...

Gannon wrote: Nancy, you will love Addison's book!

Aargh! Not you, too!

Nancy said...

Anna C., we're enjoying sunshine, albeit with cold weather, after days of rain and gloom. It's nice! Here's wishing you sunshine, too.

Beth Andrews said...

Wow! Another stellar line-up! The lair is going to be rockin' in March :-)

Joan said...

I'm going to say it now, publically that I am SO bummed that I have to work the day of Addison's visit!!!!!!!

I'll come by...late but I wanted to enjoy all the celebration in real time!

You rock, Addison!

Nancy said...

PS to Anna C.--The dh tells me there's a prediction of snow tomorrow *sigh* and the store was duly mobbed.

Caren Crane said...

WOW! March is gonna be happening in the Lair. I can't wait for spring and I can't wait for our NEW BANDITA BOOKS!!

Caren Crane said...

Kim, so glad to hear you are safe in Hawaii! I was nervous for you.

Too funny that roosters are so highly esteemed in Hawaii. The Golden Rooster is an obnoxious sort sometimes, but he would LOVE to have handmaidens and maybe a temple! *g*

Caren Crane said...

Dianna, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your son! I know how it is. My baby boy will be 24 in April. *gulp*

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hehehe...did someone accuse moi of teasing a fellow Bandit about upcoming releases? *bats eyes innocently while grinning mischeviously*...Yes Nancy tomorrow you can get a copy of Addison's book and she's been so excited about sitting down with the Banidts to talk about it that she's probably still bouncing off the walls of her new apartment! hehehe

Louisa Cornell said...

Yes, yours today, Virginia! You know how to handle him so there should be no trouble. LOL

Wow, what an awesome lineup for March! Can't wait to get started! And I am REALLY looking forward to my Pixie Sister, Helen's visit !! She is just the sweetest thing in the world and an AWESOME writer !!

Kim ! SACRED ??? Oh good Lord ! We'll never hear the end of it now!

And the question of the day is ... Which of our Aussie Banditas or Buddies can be found on the steps of the opera house in Sidney in their altogether ?? Anyone ?? Anyone ?? Bueller ???

Loucinda McGary aka Aunty Cindy said...

What's that Louisa?

SOMEONE is streaking the Sydney Opera House and didn't invite us along?!?! HRUMPF!

Virginia, do NOT under any circumstances let the GR read Kim's post! That chook has enough of an ego the way it is. :-P

AC

Nancy said...

Suz, alas, but I teach tomorrow! Will ltry to pop in before class. :-(

jo robertson said...

Hi, Aunty C., and happy birthday to Colin. Obviously we had these children when we were wee babes ourselves, right?

Nancy, sounds like Addison's book is very popular.

Hi, Beth and Caren!

What? What? A naked Bandita or BB putting on a show for the Aussie opera goers? More deets!

limecello said...

Yay March!!! :D

Congrats on the GR, Virginia - I hope you're having fun with him ;)

Louisa Cornell said...

Check out international news sites. There was a photo session of 50 K Aussies SANS APPAREL standing on the steps of the Sidney Opera House !! I simply assumed that at least one Bandita or Buddy would have stepped up to represent the Lair or at LEAST to snap a few sly photos of some hot Aussie men !! Apparently the event was to have happened a few days ago, but was postponed to today (or would that be yesterday or tomorrow?) because of the tsunami warnings!

jo robertson said...

Louisa, that's hilarious. Hmmm, I think I see Foanna hanging with some naked Aussie dude.
