Sizzling Hot February

by Donna MacMeans

It might be cold and snowy where you live, but February is shaping up to be a sizzling hot month here in the lair.

We'll start off tomorrow, Feb. 2nd, with Harlequin Presents author Nicola Marsh and her February release, The Boss's Bedroom Agenda. Now why have my bosses never looked like that? Sure would have added some sizzle to the workplace. Fingers crossed that Nicola will bring some of the hot men from her website over to the lair to play.

We'll move from international seduction to sizzling intrique on Feb. 3rd when C. J. Lyons returns to the lair. Her latest release from Berkley, Warning Signs, takes us back to the Angels of Mercy Medical Center and the women we first met in C. J' s debut, Lifelines.

No matter the temperature outside, it will be party time in the lair on February 4th as we celebrate the fabulous bandita Kate Carlisle's debut with Homicide in Hardcover. In spite of the title this issue is being released in paperback (grin). Isn't it a gorgeous cover? You're invited to join in on the fun in the lair as we celebrate big-time.

We have yet another fabulous Avon author joining us on Feb. 5th. Kathryn Smith writes both vampires and historicals. She'll be releasing a
new series set in the Victorian era later in the year, but for now she'll be telling us about her just released fifth volume in the Brotherhood of Love series, Night after Night.

St. Martin's Debra Webb will join us on Feb. 6th to discuss her new December release, Find Me. Romantic Times Bookreviews said "Webb moves to a whole new level with this book, and the ending is off-the-charts creepy."
I think the chill that just tripped down my spine is unrelated to the chill outside.

Seems like a lot for such a short month, but we're not through yet!

On Feb. 13th, Renee Ryan takes us to Colorado in 1880 with The Marshal Takes a Bride, a Love Inspired February release - just in time for...

FEBRUARY 14th Valentines's Day!!

We'll be celebrating Valentine's Day bandita style with some massive bandita booty. So stop by to visit with Tawny and the rest of the gang - often.

Be sure to stay warm the entire month by snuggling up to the computer with a nice mug of hot chocolate and an even hotter romance. We'll try not to steam up your glasses (grin).

:) Yay - February does look like a good month! And it's a short one too - and somehow that registers as being "good" to my sleep deprived mind.

Also - I think I posted it somewhere else, but the new phone is good. Confusing, a few blips w/ cust serv, but the GR is helping me figure it out ;) [That and the explanatory cd that come with it. O_o yes, it's got enough bells and whistles to warrant one.]

Limecello - congrats (again *g*) on snagging the rooster!!! I hope you both have a lovely day. Don't let him make any prank calls with your new phone.

Wow, that's one bodacious month coming up in the lair! Donna, thanks for putting up such a great post listing all our coming attractions. Including Nicola's handsome boss!

I'm REALLY looking forward to Kate's party! Been choosing what I'll wear and practicing my tango!

Limecello, clearly you are wearing rooster-friendly perfume! Chook-nel number 5 perhaps?

Chiming in down the road from Donna's house (She's not there
:-( ) here in snowy Ohio but got to say February looks hot!

Which is great since several of us do not have heat at our house!

Can't wait to get back in the swing of things!

Limecello, keep the keys AND the phone with YOU at all times! The GR has been known to go on the lam and with access to a phone he will be calling his favorite partner in crime - my dog, Frodo!

February definitely looks like one hot month!!

Stay warm, Joanie! Cuddle up with those Romans of yours.

Helen, send some of that heat this way. It was 29 degrees Farenheit this AM when I went out to feed the outside dogs. Needless to say they got breakfast in bed as none of them would leave their nice warm doghouses. They know Mom will bring the food right to their doors!

Congrats limecello on getting the GR again. He must like it at your house. Have fun with him today.

Looks like a big party going on in the lair this month. Its going to be a great one.

We have warmer weather today and the ice is all melting. There are still alot of people without. power, but things are looking up. I plan on being more prepared for the next storm that hits us.

I found out one thing during out power outage is that my hubby, son, and I are addicted to the computer, because when we got our power back the first things we turned on was our computers and the internet. Is this bad or not?

Its addiction.

Hi Joan, nice to see you back. Sounds like you have been in the same shape as me. They keep saying Power to the People on the radio. I live in Boyle county and I am about fifteen miles from the main Kentucky Utilities power plaint and we got our power back real late Thursday night and believe me we were doing a happy dance. I hope you get yours back soon, each day more people get their power back on.

Jeanne, thanks for including the link to my review of Kate's book. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did!

Anna Campbell said...

Happy coming up birthday, Hawk! Thanks for joining us in the lair!

Kate, that's a brilliant review! Congratulations! PJ, you really are great at not giving too much away but still giving a flavor of the book. It's such a skill and you've got it in spades! Brava, Miss PJ!!!

Keira Soleore said...

I'm really waiting to nosh with CJ Lyons about her first and her second release. She writes the most fabulous romance medical suspenses. And OF COURSE Kate's debut. Hooray!!

Keira Soleore said...

PJ was always fabulous at telling stories, building suspense, laying the groundwork, and telling you how things are without giving anything away. In the past year, her skill's grown and grown. PJ, your reviews of Kate's and Susan Crandall's were fabulous!!

Jeanne (AKA The Duchesse) said...

You're more than welcome, PJ. It's a wonderfully written review. As Keira said, it gives the idea of the story w/o giving anything away.

Cannot WAIT! :>

Nancy said...

Limecello, you're on a roll! Glad the phone is good, but watch out for the rooster--he'll use up all your text allowance while you're not looking!

Nancy said...

Helen, it's so hard for me to remember that y'all are having summer right now. Maybe I need to travel in the southern hemisphere to drill this into my brain!

Stay cool down there. :-)

Nancy said...

Donna, great job with the preview. I love the graphics!

Just BTW, Anna and Jeanne and Keira--I have Kate's book. Hah! I ordered it from my local independent, and it came Friday. But I'm not revealing anything. Don't want to spoil it, since I think PJ's the only person who has read it yet.

Besides Kate, of course. *g*

Nancy said...

PJ, that was a fabulous review! There's a knack to doing those without going on and on and on, and you did a great job.

Helen said...

Louisa

You can gladly have some of this heat stay warm

Nancy
I would love it if you could visit down under

Have Fun
Helen

thanks for the heads up & I'll look forward to big doings in the lair!

Congrats on the GR, Limecello.

Looking forward to another exciting month at the lair.

I looooooove Kathryn Smith's books, and I can hardly wait to read Temple's story!

I know I've read several books by Nicola Marsh before, and I have books by most of these other authors either pre-ordered or in my TBR pile. I've been practically swallowing books whole all week, but since the mailman brings more almost daily, the TBR pile looks as dangerous as ever!

Christine Wells said...

Donna, great stuff! I loved your round-up of coming events. So much excitement in the Lair. Can't wait for Kate's release!!!

Limecello...again?? Is there something about you and the GR you're not telling us?
