Launching A Week Early

by Suzanne

As many of you know, next week, February 4th, my novel, THE SURRENDER OF LACY MORGAN, will be available as an e-book from Ellora's Cave, the very smart people who bought the rights to publish it!! YIPPEE!!

So, do you know what it's about? *Wink, wink.*

Oh, well, here's the back cover blurb:

When two steely-eyed, lean-hipped strangers ride into town, Lacy Morgan knows her past has caught up with her. What she doesn’t know is that the U.S. marshals will do whatever necessary to capture her stepfather and his gang of murdering thieves, including bringing her to her knees to serve their sexual needs.

Quinn and his blood brother Dakota are searching for the one key to finding the band of outlaws who murdered their adoptive father. When they confront the sultry stepdaughter of the gang’s leader, they discover she’s unaware of her natural submissiveness tendencies.

As they journey to the gang’s lair, each day the men draw Lacy further and further into a sensuality she’s never known and a trust she’d sworn never to surrender to again. Using her lusty body for their combined pleasure, they find themselves ensnared in the same tender trap.

Doesn't that sound delicious? Want to know more? Here's a little blurb from my website:

U.S. Marshal, Quinn Halliday, searches for a gang of outlaws responsible for the robbery of the
Bank of Cheyenne and the murder of three people—one of whom is his mentor, the man who raised him after his parents died. With his blood brother, Dakota, he’ll do whatever he has to in order to bring the murdering thieves to justice, even if that means bringing the leader’s daughter to her knees to serve their sexual needs.(This picture of Russell Crowe was my inspiration for Quinn.)

Lacy Morgan, unaware of her natural submissiveness, is the stepdaughter of the gang’s leader, Devil Morgan—a man who taught her the meaning of fear. Managing to escape her lecherous stepfather’s grasp, she’s hidden herself as the schoolmarm in a tiny hole-in-the-wall place where even her stepfather wouldn’t look for her.(You see the image of Lacy on the book cover.)
Dakota O’Keefe, a Marshal and horse whisperer, is the half-breed son of a white trapper and the daughter of a Sioux medicine man. An outcast in two worlds, he’ll follow his blood brother and partner into the bowels of hell to find the gang and avenge their mentor. A natural voyeur, he has shared many a bed with Quinn and his women, but even as he helps subdue this sultry redhead he realizes she is something more to his brother.(This picture of actor, Eric Schweig was my inspiration for Dakota.)

Don't they sound Yummy? Want to read more?
Uhm...it's an erotica...so if you want the exerpts you'll have to go to www.ellorascave.com and click on the cover or go to my website www.suzanneferrell.com in the books page. OR better yet, why not buy the whole book next Friday!!

So, do you have any questions to ask me, Quinn, Lacy or Dakota?

Suzanne, this sounds like a positively delicious book. I'm definitely putting it on my to get list. Can't find it on Amazon right now, hopefully it will be up soon.

Suz

WHOO HOO what can I say I have been soo looking forward to the release of this book (one of the reasons I bought an e book reader) and now I only have a week to wait.

Love the inspirations for Quinn and Dakota yummo. Lacy sounds a little torturued to me and it will be great reading about her adventure to a HEA. I haven't read a lot of erotic stories but am really looking forward to this one.

Congrats Suz

Have Fun
Helen

Hey Barb! Congrats on nabbing the GR. Make him serve you today, okay!!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Thanks, Daz. I don't know when it would be available at Amazon. It's only an e-book at Ellora's Cave right now. But hey it's a quick download to your computer OR your Kindle over there!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Helen!

Yes, poor Lacy is a bit tortured and handles it well. I think you'll see she's not a doormat, though!

And yes, aren't my inspirations yummy?

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Cath! Glad you like your books Hot and Steamy! You'll have to let me know if The Surrender of Lacy Morgan stands up to your standards!!

Christine Wells said...

Popping out of the deadline cave to say CONGRATS Suz!! I can't wait for this story. You tantalized us with an excerpt a while back and I want to see how it all turns out:)

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Christine! Thanks for taking a break in the Deadline cave! I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did writing it. I think Quinn, Lacy and
Dakota will always have a special place in my heart!

Cool, Barb! I'm glad you got an ereader, too! Even though I wrote The Surrender of Lacy Morgan, I intend to download it to my Kindle on Friday, too! I do hope you enjoy it!

I am ready, have my account set up, just waiting for the 4th!

Margay Leah Justice said...

I love Eric Schweig! He was unbelievable in Last of the Mohicans - I still cry at the end! You couldn't have found better inspiration - unless you chose Jay Tavare. All I can say about him is - oh, my!

Christie Kelley said...

Congratulations on the release, Suz!!

The book sounds fabulous and as soon as I'm done with all my RITA books, that will be on the list. Can wait to read it!

Sandy Blair said...

Hey Suzy,
Serious congrats on your debut release!! Fab story!!!

Nancy said...

Barb, congrats on the bird!

Suz, congratulations! We are so very proud of you and happy for you!

I hope you don't mind if I say you shared a small excerpt in the Lair that is not the one EC chose and was seriously smokin'. I therefore believe this book is a finger-burner, in the best possible way. :-)

Love your website, too.

Congratulations again, bandita!

Joan said...

I'm sorry...were you saying something?

I can't take my eyes (or my imagination) off Dakota....

You know girl how I feel about this book and I am THRILLED for you!! I know it is often said, but you SO deserve this!

This calls for champagne, sangria, heck MEAD from Ireland to toast and celebrate!

Pablo, yes you! Round up the cabnana boys! Start the drink trays rounding!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Diana!
I am ready, have my account set up, just waiting for the 4th!

I am so glad to hear that! It seems like forever before it gets here, though! You'll have to let me know which hero you like better, Quinn or Dakota.

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Margay!

Wasn't Eric great in TLoM? I so would've liked that movie to end differently!!

Jay Tavarre, huh? Yep, had to go look him up. He would've been a great insipiration for Dakota, too!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Thanks, Christy!

You know, you could read it between RITA books. Think of it as a palate cleanser. Sort of a sexy sorbet!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Sandy!

Serious congrats on your debut release!! Fab story!!!

THANKS!

As one of the few people who's read the entire manuscript, that means a lot to me!!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Nancy!

That was a very fun scene to write. Poor Lacy was so tortured in that one! :)

Glad you like the website. My designer spent a lot of time on it with me. Let me just say she had a very picky client!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Joanie!

I can't take my eyes (or my imagination) off Dakota....

Hmmm...I guess you have a favorite of Lacy's heroes?

Suzanne Ferrell said...

ooooooooooooo, Yes, Pablo!! More Sangria here!!

Liz Lipperman said...

Ooh, Suz, I definitely want to read more. Only one more week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anna Sugden said...

Wooohooo!! It's almost time for Suz's book to be out. Then everyone else will know what we do - that you're an awesome writer!

Perhaps you should offer a heat warning for those of a gentle disposition, Suz *g*. It sizzles!

Hmm better go and find one of the hockey hunks to help cool me down. Oh Zach!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Liz!!

One more week and you can read the whole book!

I have to tell you, one of the hardest things to do was make sure every sex scene moved the plot along in some fashion! Hopefully, you'll think it worked. :)

Kendall Swan said...

Congrats, Suzanne!

I'll definitely be buying it (for Kindle, tho). It sounds so hot!!

Kendall

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey, Anna S!

Thanks for the awesome writer comment. I love how all my Bandita sisters have each others' backs when it comes to our writing efforts!

Perhaps you should offer a heat warning for those of a gentle disposition, Suz *g*. It sizzles!

I think you're right...

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Okay everyone... HEAT WARNING!

If you're not into seriously hot and sexy books...please wear oven mits when turning the pages...er advancing the pages on your computers. I don't want anyone getting second or third degree burns!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Kendall!

I'll definitely be buying it (for Kindle, tho). It sounds so hot!!

Thanks, you'll have to e-mail me and let me know what you think after you read it!

Louisa Cornell said...

Crack the whip, Barb! Make the GR do some actual work for a change! You Aussie girls spoil him rotten!

CONGRATULATIONS, SUZ !!!

I am so thrilled for you and I am really looking forward to reading your book! Read the excerpt and I am giving it 5 HOT DAYUMS !!

And the models you have for those two heroes are SCRUMPTIOUS !!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Louisa!

I am so thrilled for you and I am really looking forward to reading your book! Read the excerpt and I am giving it 5 HOT DAYUMS !!

Thanks! I'm glad you like the excerpt. Can I just say, the book only gets hotter from there! :)

Oh...and here's a glass of cold Sangria, (from Joanie's stock) to quench you pallate after reading that excerpt!!

Joan said...

Hey! Who ate all the tuna canapes???

GRAYSON!!!!

Just got back from the vets. There was a.....Rabbit there. Owner said it had had a close call....

Hmmmm....

Suz, you did a MARVELOUS job of blending story with sensuality.

Dakota!!! Oh Dakota!!! want to go rabbit hunting :D

Joan said...

Hmm better go and find one of the hockey hunks to help cool me down. Oh Zach!

Now Anna, I don't think Zach has COLD pucks....Hockey equipment people!

Nancy said...

Suz wrote: I have to tell you, one of the hardest things to do was make sure every sex scene moved the plot along . . .

That is a tough thing to do, but it's so important to a satisfying story. And I get irritated when I read a book where the love scenes don't add anything to character or plot (or when other scenes don't, for that matter).

Kay Thomas said...

Hey Suz,

Congratulations on your debut! I’m so thrilled for you and your delicious new release. Can't wait to download The Surrender of Lacy Morgan next Friday. I think it’s definitely time to get your party started and open the champagne now. Cheers!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Joanie:ust got back from the vets. There was a.....Rabbit there. Owner said it had had a close call....

LOL LOL!

Uhm...okay, now you'll have people wondering how a rabbit plays into this book!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

I don't think Zach has COLD pucks....Hockey equipment people!

I doubt our sexy Zach has anything COLD on him, especially pucks!!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Nancy,

This drives me crazy, too. Over the years I've had to ditch many a great scene because it had little to do with moving the story along.

One of the things I was determined to do with TSoLM was to make sure the external and internal plots told a complete story. Hopefully I succeeded.

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Kay!

Thanks for the kudos! And how did I know YOU would want champagne? hehehe

Here's a bottle and you do the honors!

Pamela Stone said...

Congrats, Suz. Sounds like a sizzling hot book. Enjoy.

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Pam!

Thanks! It's been a long road to this point.

And congratulations on Second Chance Dad, your March release. I heard it got a 4.5 star review in Romantic Times and a Top Pick!!

WOOO HOOOO!!!
SUPER CONGRATS, Suz!
I know it has been a looong time, but your first release is FINALLY HERE -- okay in a week. :-) I know it will be a HUGE success because you are an awesome writer. Plus... just look at all that lovely inspiration! (Aunty fans self vigorously)

Yes, people! You will definitely want oven mitts while reading and turning the pages of this one! And like me, you'll probably not be able to turn the pages fast enough. ;-)

Like Christie, I am busy reading and judging Rita books right now. Only 2 to go and I SHOULD have them done by next week. Then Lacy will be my REWARD!

AC
lifting a toast to our fantastic Bandita, Suz!

Anna Campbell said...

Suz, I've been DYING for this moment. You kept teasing us with hints about this delicious story. And it sounds even more delicious in the description you gave it in the blog. Wow, I LOVE Eric Schweig in the Last of the Mohicans. A girl didn't know where to look in that film - him or DDL! Hate that bit where he gets the chop! Congratulations, congratulations, congratulations on your forthcoming publication. I'm sure this is the start of a brilliant career!

Anna Campbell said...

Hey, Barb, congrats on the chook. Hope he gets nicer weather down with you than we've got here. It's blowing a gale!

Joan said...

Sven!!! Sven!!!!

Congratulations on your debut!!

Addison

Susan Sey said...

Suz! This is so exciting! I can't wait for Lacy to go on sale so I can download its smokin' hotness! I'm so proud of you, I can't even find the words.

Plus, I'm really intrigued by the Russell Crowe aspect. I never knew you had him in mind for Quinn. That changes everything. I love me some Russell Crowe...

Congrats again & I can't wait to get it!

Beth Andrews said...

Congrats, Suz!! I can't wait to read The Surrender of Lacy Morgan!! So excited for your first release :-)

Donna MacMeans said...

Congrats Barb, the GR is heading for warmer climes (wish I was...)

Speaking of temperature...this book sounds like it may very well melt all the snow in my driveway, Suz. Yowza! Not sure I have any questions for the characters, but I sure admire the inspiration (grin).

I do have a question for the author, though. What's next? "Cause I think I'm going to develop an appetite for your books!

Kathy Ivan said...

Congratulations, Suz

You know I've been waiting very impatiently for the release of this book, can't wait to read it. Thrilled that you're release date is so close. Will have my Sony ready for the 4th.

Kathy

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey, Danielle!

Thanks for the support and I hope it doesn't melt your TBR pile! :)

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey AC!

Those are two great inspirations, aren't they? Poor Lacy, to have the attentions of two such determined heroes. :) And trust me when I tell you she does have both their attention!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Anna C!

Wow, I LOVE Eric Schweig in the Last of the Mohicans. A girl didn't know where to look in that film - him or DDL!

I know! He was so yummy and nearly silent in that movie. He was so on my mind as I wrote Dakota's scenes. My only wish was he had a bit of the Irish in him that Dakota has.

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Joanie:Could you put on some buckskins before my massage.

LOL, I'm not sure our Sven could carry off the buckskin look as much as Eric could, (although he never really has those on in the book. Sorry to disappoint.)

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Addison!

Thanks for stopping by. Less than one week and y'all can read TSoLM!! yippee!!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Donna!

do have a question for the author, though. What's next? "Cause I think I'm going to develop an appetite for your books!

I hope you develop an appetite for them, too!

Well I'm currently working on the next book, tentatively titled Taming Mercy

It is about another brother who is mentioned in TSoLM. His name is Will and Shemar Moore is my inspiration for him! :)

Carol L. said...

Well this is a new book on my TRL. And may I say that your choosing Eric Schweig as the inspiration for Dakota was an amazing choice. He sure is fine looking. :) And congrats on your new release.

Hey Susan!

Oh, didn't I mention that to you?

*looking about innocently*

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Beth!

I can't wait for everyone to read TSoLM, either! I think that's the second half in the equation: 1. the author writes the story, 2. people read it.

Tracy Garrett said...

Suz, congrats on your early release party! I can hardly wait to see Lacy in print!!!!

Congratulations, Suz! Add me to

I must also tell you that you made
my day with just two words: Shemar
Moore! Loved him on Y&R and see him
daily on Criminal Minds.

Congrats on the release of your debut book, Suzanne! We've all been so excited for this event. My, my but those two fellas are quite . . . simmering!

Jo Davis said...

Congrats again, CP!!! I knew from the moment I read the opening you had a winner, and I love being right. :)) Of course I can't wait to download my "official" copy!

Hugs, girlfriend!

Gannon Carr said...

Yay, Suz! I know you are beyond excited about the release of your book. :-)

Sounds super hot! Much like your "inspirational photos." I look forward to reading it soon---it will be a perfect way to turn up the heat on a snowy day.

Gillian Layne said...

I'm doing a happy dance for you (and how great is that cover?)!!!

I do have a question, and it's something that's made me feel a bit dumb for a while--is the term 'submissive' a sexual label that came from erotica or is it a psychological term? Because Lacy being submissive is key to her emotional growth, not just the sexual role she plays, right? Or am I all wrong here? Hope it's all right to ask here; just wipe out my question if it's not PG enough. :)

And when I order this e-book (I can't wait!) can I download it to my computer, or do I have to have an e-reader?

pjpuppymom said...

Congrats, Suz! I'm looking forward to meeting Lacy and her "boys."

Those photos have certainly inspired me! grin*

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey, Kathy! Glad to see you stopped by. Less than one week and TSoLM will be winging it's way to your computer or e-reader! Yippee!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Carol!

And may I say that your choosing Eric Schweig as the inspiration for Dakota was an amazing choice. He sure is fine looking

Thanks! I fell in love with him in The Last of the Mohicans. So every scene with Dakota had him popping fresh into my mind...and oh how fresh my mind was!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey, Tracy!

Thanks for stoping by. And thanks for your help in the Western hitorical parts of this book! What a beter way to be sure I got it right than to ask you, a historical western romance writer!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Pat!

I must also tell you that you made
my day with just two words: Shemar
Moore! Loved him on Y&R and see him
daily on Criminal Minds.

Oh, then you're gonna get to have Shemar's image in your brain when you meet Will in TSoLM. But he is the star of the next book, so I hope to make him just as sexy as Quinn and Dakota in this book.

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey JoMama!
My, my but those two fellas are quite . . . simmering!

Let's just say they do get the blood pumping, hehehe

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Jo!

Y'all, Jo was the impetous to my deciding to try my hand at erotic romance. She does such a good job mixing the sensual story with the story story, I just thought I should "give it a go".

Thanks for all your help and suppot on this! Even if your reply to my mid-book panic was "write fearlessly"!!! (Really, we need to work on your hand holding!)

I knew from the moment I read the opening you had a winner, and I love being right.

Y'all, this was her response to the very brief sktechy first two pages and an even briefer synopsis.

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Gannon!
Sounds super hot! Much like your "inspirational photos." I look forward to reading it soon---it will be a perfect way to turn up the heat on a snowy day

I'm thinking if enough people in the New England states download and read a copy, it will end the winter snow storms they've been having... That, or increase the number of babies born next Oct and Nov!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey Gillian!

For the purpose of my book, submissive is a sexual need for Lacy. She has to give up control to our heroes, but she also has to surrender her independence to them in order to achive the goal of capturing the bad guys by the end of the book. But our girl isn't a doormat, and she has a secret that could destory any relationship she has developed with our heroes.

Pretty PG question and answer, huh?

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Hey PJ!

I'm looking forward to meeting Lacy and her "boys."

Those photos have certainly inspired me! grin*

I think you will LOVE lacy and her boys.

I was wanting a picture of Russell Crowe from the movie The Quick And the Dead, but they all had him wearing a cleric's collar. Uh, wrong kind of collar for this book!

Suzanne Ferrell said...

Thanks for stopping by today and all your support for my debut novel.

It's been a bit of an up and down day. A dear friend passed away very suddenly this week and her wake was today.

Shelli Castellanos was a great nurse and a big supporter of my writing career. She would've loved this book and was looking forward to reading it next week.

I'll miss you Shelli!

Laurie Logan said...

Ooh, sounds delicious, and your inspiration is mighty fine! Your release date is my daughter's birthday and while I won't be getting it for her, I certainly deserve a present on that day, don't you think?

Congratulations, Suzanne! Happy sales!

I'm so sorry, Suzanne, for the loss of your friend. I'm sure she will be celebrating with you in spirit.
