Just For the Night... A Party

with Tawny

I'm so excited and ready to celebrate the release of my latest Blaze, JUST FOR THE NIGHT. This story is in the 24 Hours: Blackout series, which means there's a whole lot of dark for the hero and heroine to be trapped in together.

When I was brainstorming this story, I asked myself what would make being trapped with a hot, sexy guy a challenge. My answer? If that hot sexy guy was your ex, the guy you'd never gotten over but were still harboring a lot of anger and blame toward. And with that, Larissa and Jason's relationship was born.

Larissa is a romance expert. She writes a column for a hot sexy magazine offering advice on how to bring more romance into your life. She reviews romance novels, and she has very strong opinions on what is romantic... And what isn't.

Then there's Jason. His expertise? Sex. Jason's all about the bottom line. So much so that he shows up at a business meeting toting a Koteka - a wooden penis cover that's reputed to offer special sexual power to whoever is nearby. Hubba hubba!

These were some fun characters to come up with!!!

My next pondering was this... Nobody expects to be trapped in a blackout, but I needed to make sure my couple had the necessities to make sure they had a good, sexy time while locked up in a lush mall with each other. So what did I arrange for Larissa to take with her? A jar of hot fudge, a warm fuzzy blanket, and condoms. Hey... she had her reasons!!! And, best of all, she put all of those to good use :-)

Hopefully, my brainstorming and ponderings paid off to result in a fun, sexy story that readers enjoy. So I think it's time to celebrate. We need hunks, of course. And a tequila bar with 24 varieties of margaritas. To keep with the 24 theme, perhaps Keiffer Sutherland will join us? Sven is sending the cabana boys around with 24 different kinds of dessert, and we'll be partying for... yes, you guessed it, 24 hours.

We should, of course, have cake. Now, personally this cake makes me think of Donna and her feathers, so I thought it'd be a lot of extra fun to enjoy! There is a different flavor of deliciousness on each layer, so there's something for everyone.

So if you were trapped without power for 24 hours, what three things would you want with you, where would you be and who would you enjoy the experience with most?

I'll give away three copies of JUST FOR THE NIGHT to three lovely commenters today!

On raspberry margarita, coming up via a Golden Rooster, AC :-)

LOL! Some delivery boy, I'd rather have one of the cabana boys, thank-you-very-much! ;-)

As for being without power for 24 hours, I'd want plenty of candles for when it got dark. Blankets if it is cold weather and ice if it is hot, and lots of lovely TimTams! Oh and an Aussie hunk to feed me those cookies. Hugh Jackman or Eric Bana will do nicely.

SUPER CONGRATS on your newest release, Tawny! I'm sure it will be ONE HAWT READ!

LOL Auntie, I think you deserve at least one cabana boy, if not two or three. I mean, that's a might big margarita!!

I love your choices. Tim Tams, candlelight and Hugh (and Eric? Why not both? I mean, it's fantasy time, right?) So yummy!!

Thanks so much for the wonderful congrats :-) I'm thrilled and ecstatic with this release, and really hope readers like it as much as I do.

Hi Lindsey :-)

It sounds like you've got your very own romance brewing! Nice fantasy :-) And you even brought chocolate!! That's even better... I mean, everything is extra good with chocolate.

Hey Tawny,

A huge congrats on your new release it sounds fabulicious !

Three things I would have with me off the top of my head, I would have to say candles, champagne whipped cream (just incase lol) and I would say a place to be trapped would have to be somewhere remote so as to not be disturbed and with who no one else than Mr. Johnny Depp !!

Thanks for a nice giveaway!

Whoo Hoo Aunty Cindy have fun with him although I am not sure you would want the GR for a 24 hour blackout LOL.

Three things I would want in a blackout I think Aunty Cindy has named them all for me LOl although Rod Stewart might be a nice bonus as well for some really nice sexy songs to go with all the other fun.

Love the sound of the cake and yes I will have a strwberry margarita please.

Congrats on the release Tawny I have got it as an ebook and am soo looking forward to reading it.

Have Fun
Helen

Whoo hoo! Another launch party in the lair! Congrats on the release of Just For the Night, Tawny! I'm especially fond of reunion stories and I loved going along for the ride while Larissa and Jason got their second chance :-)

The three things I'd want if I was trapped in a blackout? Candles, a pitcher of Sven's famous margaritas and a big piece of that fabulous feather cake to share with my husband *g*

Congrats on your new release, Tawny!
24 hours can be a long time, so, I would like to have some chocolate, enough wine to keep me entertained (and a working toilet wouldn't be bad, too lol) and maybe a handsome Scot to keep me company (Gerard Butler would do nicely), oh and he can entertain me, too. ;)

No power for 24 hours? Heck, I survived and hated having no power for 6 days. We had a major ice storm and our little community was hit hard. We hooked up to the neighbor's generator for 2 hours on the night before power came back, but living by candlelight and grilling in dead of winter wasn't fun.

If I knew it was only for 24 hours, I'd have candles and light a fire in a fireplace. Hmmm, having a fireplace, of course, would have to be a requirement, so that's out. Gotta have chocolate.
Lots of cuddling and blankets, too.

Congrats on your new book, Tawny!

hrdwrkdmom aka Dianna said...

Power outtage for 24 hours would require candles, I don't like the dark.

A cabana boy, Lars will do. Paolo if Lars is already taken.

mmmmmm some of Svens little tidbits for food. Those little meat filled dumplings would be great. (gotta keep up my strength)

As for the Margarita, just the original will work for me. Simple tastes for this woman.

Can't wait for Just For the Night! I haven't missed a release yet and don't plan to start now.

Gannon Carr said...

Party time! Can't wait to read your latest steamy book, Tawny. :-)

Hmmm, what would I need for my 24 hours in the dark:

Candles, champagne, and chocolate. And my handsome hubby, of course. Rrawwr! LOL

Oh, Sven, I'm feeling parched and could use a frosty margarita. ;-)

I've read some of your books Tawny so I'm sure this will find it's way to my read pile as well and will be just as good as the others :0)
Congrats on the latest!!!!

Candles, plenty of wood for sauna stove and snacks.

Whooo hoooo, Tawny! Congrats on another Blaze release. This one sounds great. Trapped in a mall, what could be better than that. You can get just about anything you need there, right?

Which Blaze number is this for you, Tawny? About a gazillion? I'm surprised by how many different sexy ideas you come up with when writing them.

Hmm, baby oil, breath mints, and a hairbrush. That's all I'd need. Giggle.

Donna MacMeans said...

Love the feathers, Tawny! Not a bad thing to have with you if the power goes off. One can always do a little dusting - and I'm not talking furniture.

This story sounds like so much FUN! Can't wait to read it. Okay - Have to say that I'd want to be trapped with my husband. I'd be emotionally free to do things with him that I'd never do with a stranger.

And I want alcohol! (Wow - did you see Sven jump when I said that? One chocolitini coming up. BTW - I had a sweet hibicus martini last night - Blah.) I'm speaking of course as an item to have with me in the black out. Diet Coke and a bottle of Jack Daniels will do nicely.

A scented candle & matches would be great. A little soft light is never a bad thing.

Munchies - a couple can have a lot of fun with the right sort of treats. (And Tawny is the girl who has the imagination to use those treats to best advantage.)

Great premise Tawny! TIme to head to the bookstore.

btw congrats on your new release sorry i had my mind running with my imagination and a fantasy with this one and had to get it down on here right always it happens like that with poems and what not to lol

Tawny said...

PJ, we can provide you with a cushy soft feather bed, a comfy blanky and a hunk to wave a feather overhead while you rest from your exhausting day!!!

Which actually makes me want to do something exhausting LOL.

Thanks so much for the congrats!!! I appreciate it tons :-)

Congrats on the release of Just For the Night, Tawny! I'm especially fond of reunion stories.

hmmm...3 things...24 hours...

hubby for sure :-)
candles/lantern/fireplace
food and drink

We don't need all the extras, we make our own party!! ;)

Tawny said...

Aww, Desere, you're partying in the dark with my Johnny? I might have to pout for a second :-D

But the champagne, candlelight and whipped cream dessert do sound perfect for a blackout adventure!!!

:-D

Tawny said...

LOL Helen - can you imagine the trouble that rooster would get up to in a 24 hour blackout? OMG it'd be a mess!!! Sven would have to hire extra help just to mitigate all the damage!!

Here, one strawberry margarita and a lovely slice of cake to celebrate with while we talk the hotness of Rod Stewart. Oh, boy can that man sing!!

Tawny said...

Smoochies Beth :-) I couldn't do it without you!!!!

And I have to ask... are you taking one of those feathers with you for your little husbandly tryst?

Hmmmm?

Tawny said...

ROFLMAO Claudia :-)

You will be glad to know that a working bathroom was one of my mandatory requirements when I came up with this scenario. I'm willing to put my characters through a lot... but the deserve a bathroom.

Wine, chocolate and Gerard... oh what a lovely 24 hours that would be!! Great choices :-)

Tawny said...

LOL Artemis, you're totally prepared already, aren't you.

What a great list. I love that your hubby is your go-to guy for blackout fun :-)

and thanks for the congrats!!!

Tawny said...

Oh Deb... 24 hours has a romantic image, more than that is just suffering. Hugs on the stress of being without power for so long.

A fireplace, cuddly blankets and chocolate all sound lovely, though! And thank you for the congrats :-)

Tawny said...

Dianna :-D Hi there and thank you so much! I'm thrilled you've read all the releases LOL. Wow go you!!

Sven is bringing around a new tray of delish goodies, and what do you think? 24 hours in the Lair would be quite the party, wouldn't it. Blackout? What blackout? We're just having a wild ole time here :-) Paolo is on tap to meet all your party needs, and keep your pitcher of margarita's full.

Tawny said...

Thanks, Gannon :-) I hope you enjoy it!!!

Champagne, candlelight and chocolate sounds like the perfect blackout supply list.

Would you like to try the newest margarita? Mango? It's deliciously sweet!

Tawny said...

Hi BJ and thank you :-) I do hope you'll check out JUST FOR THE NIGHT and let me know what you think!

And WOW, what a gorgeous choice for a blackout location!! That's romantic even without the blackout. Food, blankets and candlelight with darling hubbie... Perfect!!!

Tawny said...

Minna, what a great list :-) A stove would really keep things cozy, too!

Tawny said...

LOL Jo, to tell you the truth, I have personal fantasies about being trapped in a mall. Oh, the possibilities...

JUST FOR THE NIGHT is my 11th Blaze :-) I'll admit, I do love writing for this line. The sexy scenarios seem to come along with the characters (oh, bad unintended pun, but I'll leave it) so I haven't had much trouble thinking up new ones.

And baby oil, breathmints and a hair brush... Wow, what a scene my brain is imagining with that list :-D Yowza!!!

Anna Campbell said...

Just swinging by quickly to wish you a very happy release day, Tawny!!!! My plans are to read your wonderful JUST FOR THE NIGHT today!!! Can't wait! Wahooooooo!

Tawny said...

Aww, Donna, thanks for the feathery tips :-D Dusting, it's a lost art.

I think there is so much more intimacy when you're trapped with someone you know well (hubby, ex-fiance, etc). The dark brings out so many truths, and not only sexual :-)

I love your list! And I have to say, a hibiscus martini does sound kinda ick. It'd sure be pretty, though!!

Tawny said...

Lindsey, I loved your list :-) A smart writer gets those ideas down fresh, right?!

Tawny said...

lynxmarie, thank you :-D I love reunion stories, and I love seeing how much characters have grown and if they're ready to tackle their differences this time around.

GREAT list, and you're right :-) Extras just get in the way sometimes!

jo robertson said...

Oh, yeah, Tawny, the mall thing would be super interesting.

Congrats again on #11. That's pretty amazing to me!

Well Tawny, I would have to say water, Henry Cavill (The Tudors - Duke of Suffolk) a box of condoms and a pretty quaint country cottage with an Inglenook Fireplace blazing in the background. Don'[t tell my husband. lol

Hello Tawny!

Congratulations on your latest release!

Hmm...a good book, a flashlight and David Gandy.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Tawny! Thanks for joining us at Romance University and bringing the Blaze gang along with you. I picked up a copy of your book today - can hardly wait to read it!

I'd never heard of a Koteka and, let me tell you, after checking Google Images I feel as if you've filled a gap in my education!

Hmm. As to the three things, the first would be a hero from a romance novel (MUCH better than a good-looking celebrity!) If I can have the hero, the next two things would be a nice, blazing fire (in a fireplace!) and a jumbo-sized pillow.

Failing that, I'll take a romance novel, a flashlight in case the lights go out and...well, I really want to say chocolates for the third thing, but I'm going to be practical. #3 - reading glasses!

Louisa Cornell said...

Aunty got the chook! Guess you're stuck with him for 24 hours, blackout or not!

CONGRATS TAWNY !!! What a deliciously wicked idea for a book!

24 hours of darkness?

Gerard Butler

Plenty of candles and enough chocolate fudge to cover Gerard Butler

A heated water bed and TIME !!!

hahaha i would like to think so huns though i must say after taking my mom out to see Thor as a early mothers day outing i have been having so many thoughts and day dreams flying through my head that i havent been able to get them on paper. and they are some good ones.

AC, congrats on the rooster!

Tawny, I have Just For the Night and am looking forward to reading it.

If I were stranded in the dark, I would want the dh, champagne and candlelight. Preferably in a mountain cabin with snow outside and a beautiful stone fireplace, well stocked. And maybe a Jacuzzi.

Okay, that's more than three. But we could use some kicking back time.

Jane said...

Congrats on the new release, Tawny. The three things I want with me are my smart phone(make calls, listen to music), some sort of beverage(water, wine) and candy(chocolate, mints.) I think it would be cozy to be trapped in the attic with Eric Bana or Henry Cavill. We can have a little fun with each other and also look to see what treasures are hiding in the attic.

Hi Tawny ~ Congratulations on the release. I just ordered this book yesterday from eHarlequin and I'm looking forward to reading it.

My list ~ my husband with me to break up the boredom , a working toilet and water supply, a warm bed.
I think I could get by without food but water and a toilet are must haves.

Tawny said...

YAY, Anna :-)

I hope you have a fabulous time reading *ggg* And thanks tons - I'm honored to know you're offering up your evening to be entertained by Just For the Night ;-)

Tawny said...

Thanks, Jo :-)

I attended Virna DePaul's debut party and booksigning today and realized that my own debut party was 4 years ago. 11 books in 4 years... I had to take a few deep breaths as the realization hit LOL. Wow. I'm definitely blessed and lucky.

Tawny said...

Mums the word, Diane :-) But I am going to have cottage envy! What a great place to do the power outage! And what lovely company :-)

Tawny said...

Hi Pink and thanks :-D I appreciate that!!

And yummmy choice - very sexy entertainment for a dark night :-)

Tawny said...

Hi Becke, and thank you again SO much for being such a wonderful hostess and letting the Blaze authors invade. You're great :-)

and YAY - I hope you enjoy Just For the Night.

LOL on the koteka. I have to tell ya, the woman who first showed me a picture of one (she was offering to bring one back from her cruise) made me blush (ME!) as she described it. I knew I was going to have to find a way to work one into a book. It's just too fun, isn't it.

LOL on the practical choice. I say you deserve the romance novel hero, that way you can have chocolate instead of your glasses :-D

Tawny said...

Oh, Louisa... time. What a wonderful thing to ask for!! I love time, there's just never enough of it.

And thank you :-) I'm really thrilled with this book and hope readers enjoy the blackout as much as Larissa and Jason did :-D

Tawny said...

Oooh, Thor!! I heard it was fabulous, but I'm not sure when I'm going to get to see it.

I'm glad it inspired you so, Lindsey :-)

Tawny said...

HI Nancy :-) Thank you so much for picking up the book! I really hope you enjoy it.

Awesome location for your blackout choice :-) The only drawback of a jacuzzi might be the lack of power, but I'm a fan of warm baths so just hanging out and letting the water wash the cares away sounds like a perfect fantasy to me!

I hope you get some kicking back time soon :-)

Tawny said...

Hi Jane and thank you :-)

I thought about my smart phone, or my iPad (with books loaded to read), too. Best of all worlds, right?

But oh my the fun you'd be having in the attic with Eric or Henry. What a great location for a blackout!!!

Tawny said...

Nice list, Chey :-D It'd make for a fun blackout!

Tawny said...

Karyn thank you!! I appreciate that, a lot :-)

LOL on the choices. I love the books and booklight!! With that sweet Irish lad to take turns reading the good parts, I'll bet it makes for one romantic blackout.

Tawny said...

Hi Kaelee, and thank you so much!! I hope you enjoy JUST FOR THE NIGHT - you'll have to let me know what you think :-)

LOL on the priorities, I'm with you! There has to be a toilet. There just has to. The warm bed sounds fabulous, too.

Christine Wells said...

LOVE the sound of JUST FOR THE NIGHT, Tawny--congratulations on another fabulous new release! I'm so looking forward to this one.

Right now, I'm tempted to say I'd like a bed, snuggly duvet, pillow and a nice big old teddy bear if I was trapped in the dark. Boring, but there you go! I really need more sleep!

Awwh Tawny I did not mean to make you pout, I just cant help myself when it comes to Johnny he is just all kinds of gorgeous!
