*whistling* Yo, Cabana Boys. Over here! Delivery? Oh, the chocolate fountain. Right over there next to the margarita machine, please. And the tootie horns, party hats and...whats that? A riding crop? Oh, that goes to Auntie Cindy. I have no idea how it got in that Cabana Boy's pocket.
Welcome to the Party! I'm so excited to celebrate the releases of not one, but two books. COMING ON STRONG is out in April, GOING DOWN HARD is out in a couple weeks, in May! Woohoooo.
Its like double the fun, right? So we have to have double the wildness at this party... just sayin'. I was ecstatic when my editor told me I'd have back to back releases with these books. They are about two best friends, Belle and Sierra, whose party planning business -Eventfully Yours - brings them not only a fabulous living, but the loves of their lives.
Like any two best friends, Belle and Sierra have a ton in common. But, they are also opposites in many ways. Belle was a daddy's girl, Sierra an orphan. Belle has a thing for CEO's, Sierra falls for a sexy cowboy. Belle's a flirt, Sierra's direct. Belle avoids conflict, Sierra revels in it. And yet, they are both fab friends, and more important for our celebration today - top of the line party planners!! So I asked them to consult on making this a party to remember... here's how it went:
Belle: Hmmm, hot books, wild party. Lets do a sex theme.
Sierra: Oh please, thats all you have on your mind these days. Ever since you did that sex theme for Mitch's resort, you want to integrate condom bouquets into every event.
Belle: Not every. Just the hot ones.
Sierra: Well, from what I've heard, the gals in the (consults clipboard) Lair, they call it, they're about as wild as they come.
Belle: Then maybe glow in the dark...
Sierra interrupts: Okay, you handle the decorations. I'll take care of the buffet. Chocolate for sure, maybe a three tier cake and some petite fours? I'll bring in fresh fruit and cream, too. They want margaritas, champagne and a male dancer on bar, I mean, serving behind the bar. Oh, and cowboy hats. We'll want a lot of cowboy hats.
Belle: You and your cowboy. Tell me, does Reece wear his hat when you... you know?
Sierra grins a naughty grin and laughs
Belle: Cowboy hats it is, then. Although we need some other form of entertainment than the kind of thing you usually get up to with a cowboy hat.
Sierra: Entertainment? Uh oh. That Tawny chick gave me a budget, but she insisted on the chocolate fountain, the open bar, all the Chippendale servers and the fun decorations. The budget just doesn't cover almost-naked guys and entertainment.
Belle: But. But. There has to be entertainment. Let me think.
Sierra: What if...
Belle: What if...
Sierra and Belle together: The Bandita Buddies!!!
Belle: Perfect! We'll ask the Bandits and their Bandita Buddies to perform. Call it Karaoke without limits.
Sierra: Excellent. I've heard there's tremendous talent hanging out in this blog.
So what do you say?
If you were going to get up on stage at this little party and perform, what would you do? You're welcome to bring in props and friends (altho Johnny's staying here at my side). If you're signing, you can bring the band. If you're dancing, you can bring backup dancers. Whatever form of entertainment you'd like, the sky is the limit!!
The Golden Rooster will be stopping in at the end of the day to peck, I mean, pick his favorite performance to win a copy of both books! (and if you already have both, hugs, kisses and another round of margaritas- then you can pick any of my backlist instead)

Ooooh! *looks around* Am I first?
YAY - a guest! First guest, even. Here's the rooster (tumbling him into Pissenlit's arms) and here's a drink. Can I get you a hunk... I mean, some cake?
Why yes, please! Mmmmmmmm...hunk...I mean...cake...
*tosses back the drink* I should probably go to bed now while I'm still making sense. I'll just take the rooster with me...and a hunk. I promise to bring the rooster back to the par-tay tomorrow morning...but maybe not the hunk...
LOL - well we need the rooster in the evening to pick the performance winner. But the hunk? He's yours to enjoy. Like, you know, a party favor ;-)
Congrats Pissenlit enjoy your day with him he has eaten a lot of chocolate
Tawny CONGRATULATIONS on the back to back releases I have read Coming on Strong and LOVED it Mitch and Belle are so good together and WOW is this book hot. The only book of yours I don't have is Going Down Hard and I will be getting that one asap because I am dying to read Sierra and Reece's story. I love best friends stories.
What would I do if I got up on stage well a few years ago at a work Christmas party a group of us got together organized a cannon all got dressed up and did Cher's If I Could Turn Back Time there were fishnet stockings I was one of the sailors it was a hoot and if anyone wants to join me we could do that act.
Have Fun
Helen
Helen, do I have to wear fishnet stockings to perform with you?? The old gams aren't what they used to be and I don't think they would look so good in fishnets anymore.
CONGRATULATIONS, Tawny!
Can't wait to get my hands on the hunks ... I mean, both of your books. I'm awaiting the Amazon pigeon to do his thing *sigh*. Poor bird is quite worn out with all the Bandita releases!
Thanks for the suggestions, Belle and Sierra. Can I be a judge instead of a performer? I hate anything like that!
I'm seeing two heads shaking and frowns. Well, okay. In that case, either I'd do Shania's "Man, I Feel Like a Woman" with my hockey hunks in support. Or I'd do Carrie Underwood's "Before he Cheats" with hockey hunks in support.
Got to have some new, cute shoes for the act - and a svelte new body (no, not talking about the hockey hunks here *g*).
Actually Dianna when we did this act one of the guys we worked with dressed up as Cher and he wore the fishnet stockings and a leotard with a wig and we all had sailor shirts and hats and bike pants on but he even slid along the cannon we borrowed from somewhere it was a real laugh I am sure that someone would love to wear the fishnets I couldn't I don't think thay make them in my size LOL.
We used to do a lot of different acts at our Christmas parties I have even dressed up as a street walker in an old blue satin formal dress I found at an op shop those were the days.
And I am dying to find out if Reece wears his cowboy hat when you know.
Have Fun
Helen
Pissenlit, congrats! Enjoy the bird.:) Tawny, I've read Coming on Strong--hot, hot, hot! Loved it!
I'm bringing Sting to the party--I'll gladly sing backup. I want the body for one of those gorgeous belly dancing costumes. He will sing Desert Rose...
And a glass of the champagne--don't mind Oded Fehr following me around with a tray of strawberries. Nibbling is allowed at this party, right? ;)
Pissenlit, sounds like you are already off to a swinging start! Enjoy the party and the GR. *g*
Tawny, I'm ELATED about your back-to-back releases. What a treat for all of us! Gillian, I hate to tell you, but I've had dibs on Oded for eons. >:-(
There may be trouble in the Lair unless you're sharing! I will happily listen to Sting sing anything at all, but especially Desert Rose. *sigh*
I'll knock back a vodka tonic then get up and do some serious rock 'n roll. I'll be doing rocky-oke, so using a live band. Will have to get a set list together and post later. *g* I'll be sharing the stage with Liz Bemis, btw. We need backup singers and dancers! I will also happily do backup singing or dancing for anyone who needs it. I can "Ooo-oo" like a champ!
Congrats Pissenlit!
Tawny, huge congrats for your back-to-back releases! I haven't read them yet but I plan to!
I'm a shower singer (accompanied by howling dogs - sheesh, everyone thinks they're a critic) but keep a steady flow of margaritas coming my way and I'll happily take the stage. I'll sing PLAY THAT FUNKY MUSIC 'cause every good party needs some funky music! :)
Shaaarrrinnng? Shar-ing... I know not of this word you speak.
However (deep sigh), if I must deal with Oded's wandering eye in your direction, Caren, then I'll simply allow Patrick Stewart to distract me. He whispers naughty limericks like nobody's business. ;)
Pissenlit, congratulations!
Tawny, I'm happy to report that I finished this book yesterday and enjoyed it hugely. It's a hot book, of course, and you handled the theme in a very classy way.
Since I can't carry a tune in the proverbial bucket and am rusty on all forms of musical instruments, I have to give the entertainment question some thought. Back later for that.
Congratulations on your new release!
Ohhh, I love me a Bandita party. Where's Sven?
hmm, I believe I'll follow up PJ's funky music with some Gloria Gaynor. I've got my multi colored boa, sky high stilletos and sparkly dress. Can somebody hang the disco ball?
Can I just say that Coming ON Strong is fabulousness?? You all must read it!
Somebody hand me some chocolate and a drink!
Tawny, I usually don't drink before 6A -- but for you? Of course!! :-) Something fruity and powerful (like the Banditas!)!
I loved Coming on Strong and can't wait for Reece's story! Yippee!
I've always wanted to dress up like the gals from Mama Mia and sing some ABBA. I need a couple others to hang with me, though. Any other Mama Mia fans in the audience?
Hello Tawny,
Congrats on the releases. Can't wait to read these books.
Hey Kristen,
I'll hang with you and the ABBA/Mama Mia crowd. I don't know how good I am. LOL
Have a great day.
I can't sing, but if there's a big enough chorus, I'll sing Cher or Mama Mia! I'm wondering about Reece's hat, too! I'll wear my own to draw him in and then ask him!
I can't sing, but if there's a big enough chorus, I'll sing Cher or Mama Mia! I'm wondering about Reece's hat, too! I'll wear my own to draw him in and then ask him!
Congrats on the new release, Tawny. I would probably do cheesy magic tricks. My assistant would be some shirtless hunk name Nikolai. There might be some white tigers and rabbits in my routine.
I'll sing Mama Mia with you, Kirsten. Though I draw the line at those boots *g*!
I can bring the band? ... any band? So I have to sit in with them on guitar or sing or anything? Or can I just... well... introduce the band and get out of their way?
What a fun post, Tawny! I'm really looking forward to reading these books. I already have the first.
Hmm, I've never done karaoke, but I'd probably do something where I was channeling Christina Scabbia, lead singer for Lacuna Coil. I like this song, which she sang for the band Apocolyptica.

Oh, Oded Fehr! YUM-MY!
WOOOHOOOOO!!! ROCK on, Tawny Depp! We love you!!! *holding up glowing cell phone and swaying from side to side*
You are SUCH a rock star.
Oooh, a choclate fountain. 'Scuse me...
Woohoo! Par-ty! Par-ty!
Tawny - I love, love, love COMING ON STRONG - can't wait to read GOING DOWN HARD. (Those titles are so Tawny *g*)
Okay, I'm not sure my meager talents are hot enough for this party. But I do have pink corset that gives me AMAZING cleavage - and the alchol is flowing, right? Everyone has a good buzz going? In that case, I do have a certain ability with fans - especially big feathery fans (and they better be big, baby!) so perhaps something can be arranged - or disarranged - there...hmmm?
Whoooo hoooo, Tawny! Yay on the back to back release of your latest books. They sound scrump-tu-licious!
Pissenlit (what a moniker!), congratulations on capturing the rooster your first go round. WTG!
Ooooh, I'd have to perform "Unchained Melody" because it's slow and sexy and has lots of angst!
Another party in the lair! Congrats, Tawny! Coming on Strong is still sitting on my file cabinet waiting to be read. It will be next, I promise!
Enjoy the party! I have to get back to the day job :(
Uh, where? where? WHERE??? You're giving out hunks as party favors??
I'm just sayin'.
Helen, that performance sounds hilarious, fish nets and all!
Congrats on the new release, Tawny!
I'm afraid I'm not much of a performer, but I can bring the mead and coconut chocolate chip cookies.
Sounds as though there will be a big time in the "Old Lair" today!
Congratulations, Tawny, on these 2
new releases! Love the titles!
As to performing, can't say that I
can be of much help in that area!
My singing is usually done at the
10:00 AM Mass in my parish church as a member of the choir. The type of music we usually do just will
not be fitting for The Lair today!
I would enjoy joining in with any
group doing some good rock & roll
or some disco by Donna Summer!
Pat Cochran
Yay, Tawny!!!!!! Can't wait to get my copies of COMING and GOING!! Hee hee! :-)
I'll be singing "My Boyfriend's Back" and I'll need a full band with a horn section and some back-up singers. Yo, cabana boys, y'all can sing, right? Oh yeah, I can see you've got some great lung capacity. Come here!
Okay, that's settled. So now what? Whoa, did somebody say chocolate fountain?? Yeah, baby! But wait. Hunks?? Which way'd they go? Hmm, chocolate covered hunks...'scuse me!
Herreys - Diggiloo Diggiley
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTFec_mrD-c
You know - after they're dipped in the chocolate fountain, someone has to clean those hunks up (wicked smile).
Donna, waving her hand -
Neljä Ruusua - Popmuseo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ay-7FEK6-kE
Queen - 'I Want To Break Free'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4Mc-NYPHaQ&feature=channel_page
WHOHOOOOO Helen! Awesome song - I'll wear fishnets with you. I can't sing, but fishnets require hot shoes and I'll do anything for hot shoes *g*
And thank you for the congrats -I'm over the moon thrilled with these stories LOL
Dianna, costumes are optional, but there is a rack of hot shoes over against the wall.
btw, that 'anymore' leads me to believe there were fishnet days *g* Care to share?
WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!
SUPER CONGRATS, Tawny on your back-to-back releases, and BIG THANX to your characters Bella and Sierra for arranging our party. The Lair looks fabulous with all these hunks.. er, um. of CAKE! Hmmm, I do believe that one said Happy Birthday Joanie, but what the heck?!?!
Helen, your Christmas parties sound like great fun! How bout we get our Fearless P226 to strike up the band (any band) and you, me and Pat take the stage and sing "Rescue Me"?!?! That has always been one of my favorite rock songs, and we can dress up like the Motown glamor girl singers of the 60s with sequin covered gowns and BIG hair (wigs of course)!
Don't worry, this is the Lair! We will look fantastic and sound even better!
AC
who seems to have misplaced her crop somewhere....
Well, besides the singers, I just had to bring this guy, too:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AWHzO2c8gc&feature=related
Oh yay!!! A party in the Lair. Such a rare thing. *w*
I am loving these party favors. *eyes hunky favor as he passes by with a smile*
I'll do a little Rhumba with my new favorite dancer, Gilles. Though I admit I can't watch him without thinking of his little....errr...not so little movie role. *eg*
Since this is make believe, I'll make believe I have the body for the costume. A little "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" by Mr. Mayer and away we go.
Congrats on the GR, Pissenlit! And huge congrats on this double release Tawny. I can't wait to read them both back to back. Especially since I've toyed with party planning. And a cowboy or two. LOL!
Whooohoooooooo Anna *whistling* Love the hockey hunks and can't wait to hear you sing ;-)And if you wanted to send one of those hockey hunks into the audience, I'm sure nobody would mind.
Helen, that is so fun that you did that every year. Did you video tape it? It sounds like it'd be a blast to watch :-)
and Reece? *g* Yep....
Gillian, nibbling is not only allowed, its strongly encouraged ;-) You did mean the strawberries, right?
Ahhh, Sting. Fabulous choice, he's amazing. I looooove the belly dancer costumes, very sexy touch!
*g* YAY, too, that you're loving Coming On Strong. Thank you!!!
Uh Oh... Oded fight. I'll just head on over to the chocolate fountain and dip a few strawberries while you settle that.
I should have known with a name like PoshT you'd be our singing diva :-) I'm all for serious rock n roll!!! Lets go!
Jo
I love Unchained Melody such a romantic song and yes we always had so much fun with the acts they were great parties.
Donna
I will glady help clean them up after the chocolate fountain now that would be lots of fun.
Tawny
No worries you will look fantastic in fishnets as Cher I am happy to be a sailor in the background.
Aunty Cindy
I would love to be in this one as well the more acts the better.
What a great way to celebrate lots of hunks chocolate drinks the party is rocking the acts are fantastic.
Have Fun
Helen
Hey Aunty Cindy,
I'm in! Love the idea of the Motown
costumes and the BIG, BIG Hair! As
you said, "It's the Lair!" It will
be lots of fun!
BTW, Congrats, Pissenlit, on the
Golden One and being the 1st guest!!
Pat Cochran
Tawny
Yep there are a few videos floating around of some of these parties and they are a real laugh to watch unfortunatley none of our video players work anymore.
Have Fun
Helen
PJ!!! What a fun song to sing (I'm humming it now, thank you *g*) and LOL on the howling dogs. When I sing, even my kids ask me to please stop hurting them *g*. Maybe because I have a horrible tendency to only sing when headphones are on. On me, that is LOL.
Thanks for the congrats ;-)
Oooooh, Gillian!! Patrick Stewart ::swoon:: That is one HOT dude! Great choice if you're not going to share ;-) I'd love to hear a few of his limericks LOL
Hey Tawny!!! Congrats on the new book hitting the shelves!!! Can't wait to get my copy. (oh darn a trip to the book store tomorrow!!)
My contribution to the party?
I'll be dressed in jeans and a sequins top...and since this is fantasy, a pair of 5-inch Jimmy Choos!! I'll be singing a medly of I LOVE ROCK & ROLL, RESPECT and HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT...So me and my backup singers, (Aretha Franklin, Joan Jett and Pat Benatar) will be singing hard!....
I saw him dancin' there by the record machine
I knew he must a been about seventeen
Big and so strong
Playin' my favorite song
An' I could tell it wouldn't be long
Till he was with me, yeah me +2, singin'
I love rock n' roll So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock n' roll
So come an' take your time an' dance with me
OW..
He smiled so I got up and' asked for his name
That don't matter, he said,
'Cause it's all the same...
Nancy, thank you so much :-D I love that you worked the word classy in there ;-) I'd like to think it is, but still has that heat level that Blaze promises, you know?
And hey, if you don't sing, how about dancing?
Hey, Pissenlit, is this your first experience of the Golden Rooster? And if it is, do you think you'll come back for more? He's a bit rambunctious!
Tawny, congratulations on your fab back-to-back releases! I've read COMING ON STRONG - and it's fantastic! I'm holding back on GOING DOWN HARD (oh, no, this is starting to be full of double entendres - what is it about your blogs, Tawny Depp?) until I've got a bit further in my new book. Once I pick up a Tawny Weber, I can't put it down!
Woohoo!!!! Tawny, congrats on the release and upcoming (!) release of COMING ON STRONG and GOING DOWN HARD.
Wow, this party's really something. Is that...? Nah, my imagination must be playing tricks on me. No, really? That *is* Cap'n Jack on guitar?
OK for my Karaoke, I'll sing Robert Palmer's Addicted to Love with a backup band of Gerard Butler, Clive Owen and Eric Bana (in black boxers) in support.
Then Hugh Jackman, Eric and I will do a little "Land Downunder" medley. hey, that's in keepin with the theme, right?
Tawny, I love your books. I've no doubt these two will be hits!
KIM!!! You look divine, I love the sparkles! I have a tiara that would go perfectly with that boa!
Gloria Gaynor is perfect - up on stage you go!
and for that wonderful comment about Coming On Strong, let me get you two drinks and an extra slice of cake!!
Aww, Kirsten, I appreciate you drinking for me :-D Want an umbrella with your fruity drink? Those things always amuse me (of course, the more of the fruity drink I sip, the more easily amused I get)
I hate to admit this, but I really didn't want to see Mama Mia. Sure, I'm an Abba fan, but I'd heard such bad things about Pierce Brosnan's singing that I didn't want to ruin my hunky Remington Steele memories. Then my mom made me watch it. I looooved it!!!
So -a few more fruity drinks and sure, I'll get up and sing ABBA with you!!
YAY - Housemouse is gonna do ABBA with us, too!!!
and thank you ;-) I hope you like them once you read - let me know, okay?!
Helen, that Cher story is hilarious! I bet there wasn't much masking tape left in your office the next day!
Anna, I always think, "Man I feel like a woman" has a slightly lesbian overtone! ;-)
Gillian, will you still speak to me if I hit Oded on the head and drag him away for my private pleasure? Just asking!
Ooh, the Caren and Liz B show! I wanna see that! Note to self, lay off the margaritas or I won't see much of anything at all!
YAY, Virna's going to do Mama Mia in a cowboy hat (ahem, that sounds very wrong). We're getting there, Kirsten!!!
PJ, Funky Music lives! (Although I might move out for the duration, LOL!).
Kim, isn't Coming on Strong fantastic? I loved it! Inhaled it, in fact!
Oh, no, someone mentioned Abba...
Virna, I think we all want to know about Reece's hat!
Mmmmm, Jane. An act with an assistant named Nikolai definitely deserves white tigers. I can't wait to see him... I mean, it. I mean, the act!!!
(and thank you *g*)
Oh, Jane, can you make Nikolai transport to Oz? That would be a GREAT trick!
P226, you're too modest. I'm sure you're at least as good as PJ, our shower singer!
And Donna's getting out the pink corset! Watch out, cabana boys!
Minna, cookies are always welcome.
Pat, perhaps you should save your music until late in the evening! I think it will go down a treat when we've all got headaches and we're asking for divine assistance!
Terri, I'm hearing about this Gilles all over the place. I must check him out. Perhaps he can keep me amused while I'm waiting for Oded to get over his concussion!
Ooh, Christine, want to see that Addicted to Love! Sounds delish!
Now, what am I going to sing? Sadly my voice isn't exactly angelic. How about the Queen of the Night's aria (the fires of hell are burning in my bosom - which is certainly true after I tried some of the finger food, wish the CBs would learn how to use the microwave properly!) in honour of Louisa Cornell?
But, Anna... those are awesome boots. C'mon. Try them. Just for the Mama Mia act. You don't have to wear them to conference (altho I'd pay you to try that too LOL).
P226 you are in charge, so you can not only choose the band, sit in and play, but you can pick the song! You call it... I can't wait to see what you do :-)
I would bring Tina Turner to sing of her greatest hits with us.
Well Tawny, I graduated in 69, so fishnets were a way of life for me for years EG. I also wore leather head bands, peace beads and tie dye whenever possible.
The party acts are getting better and better I am loving them and Anna I am sure Louisa is organizing something spectacular for us can't wait to see it.
And for those that haven't as yet read Coming On Strong I agree with Anna it is fantastic go get it.
Have Fun
Helen
I know what I would do, I would con my bf into helping me give a "reading" of Coming on Strong, I don't have Going Down Hard yet and I can't wait to find out what happens with Sierra and Reece.
Dianna
Love it I graduated in 73 not far behind I love tie died and yes I wore fishnets as well way back then LOL
Have Fun
Helen
WOW, Trish. Thats an awesome video - what a voice she has! I can't wait to see you sing that ;-) we'll have to get a bunch of hunks up there to play the bass, huh (or are those cellos? I mix them up)
ROFLMAO Duchess! I was so feeling like a rock star until you and your shining phone went chasing after that chocolate ;-)
Donna? You're doing a fan dance?
Whooooohoooooooooooooo!!!! Dim the lights, cue the music - and lets par-tay!!! btw, nice, um, corset *g*
And the title credit (don't you just love them?!?!) totally goes to our Kate! She's so clever with words!!! I want her to title every book I write from now on!!
Tawny, they're cellos. It's pretty awesome how rocking they can be with cellos. They have a new song out with Three Days Grace's singer, Adam Gontier, called "I Don't Care."
Yahoo!! Two more FABULOUS Tawny Weber books!! Both Coming On Strong and Going Down Hard are awesome!! And as Tawny knows, I am so in love with Reece, Sierra's cowoby from Going Down Hard ;-)
As for entertainment, I could sing but I think instead I'll play a DVD of my kids performing *g*
Right now I'm going to sit back with my strawberry margarita and have a cozy little chat with Sting ;-)
Oh, Jo - I love Unchained Melody!!! I can't wait to hear you sing it.
And of COURSE we have hunks as party favors... I'd thought about little chocolate books, but hunks last longer *g*
Have a great party everyone congrats again Tawny I would love to stay and play but I have to go to work
Have Fun
Helen
YAY Christie :-) I hope you like it!! And I hope you're having fun at the day job- be sure to come by and play on stage later, okay?!
Mmmm, Minna. Coconut Chocolate Chip cookies? C'mon over and sit here by me :-)
(and thank you *g*)
Thank You Pat!! And you know, I haven't heard Donna Summer in quite awhile... that would be awesome! Although if you want to do hymns, I'm sure we can get you a few more singers to make up a chorus. I think the joy of a Lair Party is that anything goes!!!
I've brought back the GR! I would've been back sooner but I was uh...detained. I blame the hunk...I mean...cake...
Great party!
jo robertson - Heh, "Pissenlit" wasn't my first pick...I was going for "Dandelion" but it was already taken so I went with the word in French...it was only after the fact that I realised how um...odd...it would look/sound to an Anglophone who didn't speak French. Oops. :D
Anna Campbell - Uh huh! First try! Hee!
Kate!!! Thanks for leaving the cave to celebrate *g* And to snack on chocolate covered hunks, of course ;-)
*fingers snapping* Okay, My Boyfriends Back? Lets rock!!
Donna, thats so sweet of you to help clean up those chocolate covered men.
Congrats Pissenlit on nabbing that rooster, have fun with him.
Well I am not much of a preformer but if you get enough Margaritas in me I sure will give it a whirl. I think I am bring Bob Segar and the Silver Bullet band with me and we will be singing We've Got Tonight and Turn The Page. These songs bring back a lot of memories for me.
Congrats on your new releases Tawny!
Aunty, someone wrote Happy Birthday JoanieT on one of the hunks? Well I'd say he's Joan's then, huh?
Rescue Me! YAY, I love that song!! And you all look SOOO amazing!! LOVE the wigs!
Woohoo, Tawny! Knew you'd be bringing a party! I loved Coming on Strong and can't wait for Sierra's story--yumola!
Looks like the karaoke's well under way! I'm a pretty terrible singer myself, but we're currently hooked on Dancing With the Stars at our house, so I'm bringing the pros over so we can enjoy some real dancers while Aretha belts "Respect" for us :D Because love's not real with out that ;) Lots of glitz and I'd need some REAL pros to glue me into that teeny, swirly dress and spackle me up so I look pretty ;p
Pissenlit, are you enjoying the GR and that hunky party favor?
Pissenlit...Congrats on Le Rooster!
Tawny...gee, I'm torn. I always wanted to be a Raylette..one of the back up singers for Ray Charles, but for your soiree, I might wear a short little satin number with a pair of four inch Christian Louboutin peek toe pumps and sit atop a concert grand with Billy Joel tinkling the ivories..we'd do a duet of "New York State of Mind"...and you'd be in the front row demurely sipping on Pink Squirrel, your attention divided between the stage and the swarm of hunkies vying to be on the cover of your next book. Sadly, you must pay homage to them as a writer's work is never done...
Terrio, I love Slow Dancing In A Burning Room - I can't wait to watch you rhumba with Gilles!!! I must have missed his little... um, role, though. Do tell ;-)
Ooooh, Terrio... if you want to share a little more details on those cowboys, I'm right here, ready to listen *g* I do love me a cowboy!!!
Helen, watching those videos has to be SO much fun!!! That bites that none of the video players work, though. Maybe you should do a reunion tour and tape it again ;-)
YAY Suz!! Love the look and OMG those shoes! Delish! Absolutely awesome.
Ahhh, I'm going to sit back while one of the wandering hunks refills my margarita glass, and enjoy the show - I love Rock & Roll!!! Yeah, baby!
oh, no, this is starting to be full of double entendres - what is it about your blogs, Tawny Depp? Awww, Foanna, I'm not sure what it is. I feel like Jessica Rabbitt and want to claim "I'm not bad, I'm just written that way." *g*
I love that you love my books *g* You know that, right?
Madame, will you do the Robert Palmer girl look? Pleeeeeeeeze? You remember it, the red lipstick and slicked back hair, little (very little) black dress and uber sexy persona?
Isn't Captain Jack fab on guitar? I'm playing groupie and going to mob him when he gets off stage *g*
and thank you sooo much on the congrats. I love your books right back *g*
I'm thinking I need to get in on this party but it's a bit early for margaritas downunder... Got any cowboy c0cksuckers? I would take one a those any time of the day ;-)
My dh and I went to a fancy dress as a cowboy (him) and a can-can dancer (me) complete with fishnets and five inch heels. I'll don the outfit and crank out some love shack I reckon. Or maybe something with a twist and a shake? I do love the ole booty shake!!
Hope you've had fun today Tawny, me thinks it's time to place an Amazon order...
I'm thinking I need to get in on this par-tay but it's a bit early for margarita downunder... Got any cowboy c0cksuckers? Those sweet little bad-boys go down nice any time of the day!
My dh and I went to a fancy dress party as a cowboy (him) and a can-can dancer (me) complete with fishnets and five inch heels (not him).
I could don the outfit and crank out some Love Shack? or something with a twist and shake? I love a good ole booty shake!
Tawny congrats on the double release, me thinks it's time to head on over to Amazon to place an order ;-)
Oooh, Foanna, The Queen of the Night's aria sounds amazing. Sorry about the CB's poor cooking skills. I think we forgot to ask them many questions during the interview process. It was more of a visual test, if I recall *g*
YES! Tina Turner's in the house!! JCP, great pick!!
Dianna, I'm jealous. I was a child of the 80s and all I have to remember my youth by are shoulder pads and lace socks with stiletto pumps. Your look was much more fun!!
*g* Your words go to my head faster than the tequila, Helen. Thank you!!
And Dianna - oh baby. I hope your bf is a fun reader...um, I mean, likes to read. Or, well, you know, um... hmm. Happy Reading :-D
Trish, they are fabulous. I'm always impressed seeing the range of 'types' of music that the different instruments can play. I'm a huge fan of flute music and love listening to Jethro Tull.
Hmm, TD, I remember you lining up to run the Medical when we interviewed the cabana boys. I remember you saying something about being TD MD? And it's odd - Sven turned up with a sore toe the other day and for some reason, you made him strip for the examination...
Bronwyn, you'll love Tawny's books! And sounds like you're dressed just right for a partay in the lair!
And now I've got a picture of TD MD with rabbit ears. Aye caramba!
Pissenlit, I have to laugh. I thought your moniker was a comment on the books you'd read lately and let's just say, I assumed you had read any literature you'd liked! Glad you explained it!
Awww, Beth, your kids are adorable. I think a DVD of them performing would be cute. But... methinks you should sing, too. C'mon, you know you want to. All I have to do is utter a song lyric and you'll be off and humming.
Helen -- have a fun workday!!
Virginia, this way to the margarita machine!! Bob Segar, you say? Let me get you a couple of those margaritas!! And a straw.
Due to technical difficulties I was delayed but I am here now!!!
Congrats, Tawny Dahling !!
And how did you know La Campbell ??
For Tawny's Party nothing less than Der Holle Rache from Die Zauberflote by Mozart will do.
Just for you I will recreate my debut performance in which I come onto the stage from above via a descending quarter moon and sing the aria suspended over a black silk set decorated with fog, sparkling stars and a brilliant light show.
I'm wearing a gown of black gauze over silk covered with black, gold and silver sequins. The damned corset is so tight if I take a deep breath The guys in the orchestra pit are going to get a free show. I am wearing a gorgeous crown and carrying a lightning bolt shaped spear.
Here's hoping the High F's don't break any margerita glasses.
The vengeance of Hell boils in my heart,
Death and despair flame about me!
If Sarastro does not through you feel
The pain of death,
Then you will be my daughter nevermore.
Disowned may you be forever,
Abandoned may you be forever,
Destroyed be forever
Anna Campbell - Bwa ha ha! I think you're the first person who's told me what they thought it meant. Most people just sort of casually do a "Um, so...out of curiosity... where did you get "pissenlit" from?" I should've gone with "dentdelion"(also French for dandelion) or just well, something else in English. Ah well, hindsight and all that. :D
Oh and the Orchestra? The Salzburg Festspiel Haus Orchestra, of course.
C'mon, you know you want to. All I have to do is utter a song lyric and you'll be off and humming.LOL! You know me too well *g* In that case, you toss out a lyric or two and I'll start singing :-)
Right now I'm singing It's Raining Men because of the promotion going on over at eHarlequin *ggg*
R-E-S-P-E-C-T, baby! Fedora, GREAT choice and wow, look at those dancers!!! And I loooove your sparkly dress. Very sexy!
Yanno, PinkPeony, I truly believe in 'nothing in moderation' when it comes to parties... so why not do both? Rayettes can wear Louboutin's, right? Cuz those are seriously hot shoes!!!
While you sing, I'm loving the rest of that image. Hunks, yes yes, of course you can be on my cover. But you know my heroes have to flex, right? Ahem... sorry, got a little distracted with the idea of homage LOL. And at the idea of me doing anything demurely ;-)
Hey Bronwyn!!! Love Shack!!! Woot, great tunes and I think fishnets are definitely the attire du jour!
But... I have to ask. Just have to. Because I can't stop laughing and wondering - what on earth is a cowboy c0cksuckers???
Louisa, VERY impressive. Brava, diva! Brava! Although I think you scared Demetrius. He's cowering in the back... WITH PINK PEONY!!! Oh, wait till I tell JT!
Pissenlit, seriously, still giggling about what your name really means! ;-) By the way, that line should have read HADN'T read anything you liked.
But, Fo?? How can we know that the Cabana Boys and Party Favor Hunks have big enough... um, health *g* to handle a party in the Lair? Its not just any guy who can stand up to the wildness and wiles of the Banditas and the Bandita Buddies, after all!
As for Sven, his toe was just fiiine after that exam. Just fine. mmmm hmmmm.
*adjusting my rabbit ears and winking*
For Tawny's Party nothing less than Der Holle Rache from Die Zauberflote by Mozart will do.Ahhh, Louisa! You awe me. Wow, thank you :-) Your crown matches your amazing talent, and that corset! Oh my... You know I do think those boys in the orchestra pit are waving for you breathe deeper.
I think you're the first person who's told me what they thought it meant. Most people just sort of casually do a "Um, so...out of curiosity... where did you get "pissenlit" from?"
LOL - I'm so glad she asked. I sorta wondered if it was a commentary on what you'd been reading, too.
Sorry I'm late getting back. I had a massage (no kidding!) and did some shopping.
Tawny - Gilles played Samantha's neighbor in the LA in the Sex and the City movie. I have two words for you. Full. Frontal.
I kid you not.
Ahem... Beth?
Here ya go -
So so what?
I’m still a rock star
I got my rock moves
And i don’t need you
And guess what
I’m having more fun
And now that we’re done
I’m gonna show you tonight Its currently stuck in my head... might as well share.
Massage AND shopping? I could drool.
I cannot believe I never got to the movies to see SATC. I think I was on deadline *pout* DVD, here I come. The promise of...
Oooooooh wait. I saw the stills. YUMMMMMMMMMY, I remember now.
Yeah, get that sweet boy up on stage. He's definitely a worthy dance partner!!
Yep, full body massage then I bought I headboard (long story) and a new dress. And new shoes, but they are just some cute Keds. LOL! Still, shoes are shoes.
Get thee to the DVD store!
Tawny, I'm not there to be sexy and pouty--that's Gerard, Clive and Eric's job!
However, just for you, I'll do the slick back hair red lips thing. I draw the line at not wearing a bra, though! Those girls were bouncing alllll over the place.*g*
And they couldn't play guitar worth a damn, either:)
Shoes ARE shoes, I totally agree! My next contract treat (I get myself a pair of shoes for every book I sell) will include a nice high-end pair of tennis shoes *g*
Altho I'm now making up interesting stories in my head about the headboard replacement, just so ya know.
LOL Christine, you'll look so good in that red lipstick! No bouncing required. Well, except from the hunks ;-)
And *snork* on the lousy guitar playing. So true, but I'll bet you can't find three guys familiar with those videos who could tell you that.
Okay hang on here...Not five comments in and somebody's got her--uh..THEIR...hands all over Oded. Ahem. Stand back girls. He's one of my top four. At least if he's got the "Mummy" look going on. Yaknow...that's the thing about these actors...I like DDL ONLY in LOTM, I like Viggo ONLY in LOTR, and Tom in Quigley...wait....I like Tom in lots of things, but I've seen him in pics with his wife and daughter and that kind of blew it. A homewrecker I am not. But Oded--I know nothing of Oded's love life...okay, he just moved up the list. And Posh, you know I've had my sights on Oded at least as long as you have. So...we'll drink wine for him. Last Bandita standing gets Oded.
I'm just sayin....
Tawny. I'm late. As usual. But I have the first of this duet in my bag waiting to be read next. The second is NOT yet at my Barnes & Noble, and I'm getting antsy. After all, they were ALMOST TWO FREAKIN' WEEKS LATE getting Going Down Hard. Grrrrrr.
But I had to come by and congratulate you on this accomplishment. I dunno how you did it...and I see now why you were in the cave so much last year. We missed you. But if it means more Tawny Weber books, we'll tolerate your absence now and then.
And if it means more Oded...
I'm just sayin.
Priorities, ya know?
As to the act, I prefer to sit at the bar, sip a trendy cabernet and nod or frown or "hmmmmm" at the talent on stage. I've done my stage time. I'll stay in the background if that's okay?
Somebody has to be in the audience after all. And drink the cab....*hic*

My assistant would be some shirtless hunk name Nikolai. There might be some white tigers and rabbits in my routine.Ooooo, Jane. I'm shocked and surprised...in a GOOD way! Shirtless hunks named Nikolai? Why, you have a layer of intrigue I'd never uncovered until now! And rabbits? Hmmmm. I'm looking a bit squinty eyed at you....and ogling the shirtless Nikolai.

The type of music we usually do just will
not be fitting for The Lair today!
Oh, I dunno Pat. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the....Oh. Ahem.
Guess not.
Never mind.

We've Got Tonight and Turn The Page. These songs bring back a lot of memories for me.
Oh, Turn The Page. *sigh* That's one of my top five songs ever.
Cassondra, I'm definitely the LAST BANDITA STANDING!!! Therefore it's official - I GET ODED!!!

Ha! Fo, allow me to pour you another glass of cabernet. A BIG glass. Oh, ODED! OVER HERE! And BRING THE CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN, WILL YOU? I'm tired of getting up to walk over there.
Thanks, Tawny! I think I need you to help me choose some fab shoes though--something tall and gorgeous... (to make me feel like I might be too ;))
I suppose it's no surprise that parties in the lair tend to drift off-subject?
Or is it just me, drifting off subject?
*hic* Thanks, Oded, that's just what I needed. More alcohol....
Cool a party Tawny!! I see a cowboy on that cover, Yum. I love your cowboy heroes!
Thats so neat to have back to back books. Was it hard for you to do all that Tawny?
I so can't sing, but I love those speakers to be on the floor to hear the music and love the slow dances!
*g* Cassondra, yay! You made it to the party. Just in time for the other ladies to get distracted so you could slip your hand down Oded's... um, back.
Cave time is so hard, because I miss my Bandita's and the Lair and all the fun... but I found out today I'm heading back in. Upside, lots of books. Downside, very little giddy fun.
Hmm, pass me that cab.
ROFL Fo. Last Bandita Standing? Do I see a drink off?
This should be fun ;-)
Congrats on the GR, Pissenlit!
:X I hope I'm not too late to the party... Congratulations, Tawny! Yay!!!
As for performing... haha well, I've sang on stage (a LOT) and... yes, even danced a few times, so I guess it wouldn't be too far of a stretch for me - I think I'd love to do a cheesy song and dance number. Like... It's A Sunshine Day - Brady Bunch, yes?
Fedora, I'd be thrilled to find the perfect shoes for you. How about these? Classy, yet just a little edgy...
http://tinyurl.com/dyjd34
Perfect for the party!
Thats so neat to have back to back books. Was it hard for you to do all that Tawny? Hey Caffey :-) Welcome to the party!!!
Writing back to back? It was both easier and harder, I think. In a way, because the characters were so solid and fresh by the time I finished Coming On Strong, segueing into Going Down Hard the smoothest book I've ever began. But the hard part came when I was finishing GDH, doing revisions and line edits on COS and promoting my Sept release, Risque Business. By the end of September when I'd turned everything in, I was truly drained.
But only for a couple weeks *g*
ROFL Limecello. It's a Sunshine Day? How fun!! I'll bet we can get enough drunk partiers to get up on stage for backup. Or would you prefer an all hunk backup?
Tawny - I'd take whatever back up I could get! ;)
However, as I've said before, I've been known to burst into song at any number or random places. In DC right outside the Congressional office buildings? You betcha. And even in/on the Senate only "subway" that runs from their offices to the capitol building.
... There may, or may not have been a senator in the same car. Yet, none of my friends have been able to convince me to do karaoke in the past 2 years. :X
Eek - any number OF random places. I'm tired :X
Oh man, Limecello, are you going to the RWA Conference in DC this summer? If so, you and Beth need to connect. That girl sings a LOT!! I think she thinks in songs LOL. If I want to distract her (you know, during her crack the whip moments) I just toss out a few song lyrics *beg*
Nope, sadly, I am not. I couldn't even if I wanted to - it's 2 wks before the bar exam so I won't be going anywhere but the library to study >.<
Heh - but have fun and toss some song lyrics to Beth for me ;)
Sending you good thoughts for the bar exam, Limecello!!! We'll toast your success in DC!!!
Maybe I can even get Beth to sing *g* She's really good!
Hey, Limecello, good luck for the studying! Sounds like you'll be burning the midnight oil for the next little while!
Ooooh... those are some gorgeous shoes, Tawny! I like! Maybe some of these wonderful backup dancers can help me to my feet ;)
Fedora, sweetie, with shoes like that, the hunks can carry you!!!
Hi Tawny,
I just got back from my day without the kids... Yay!
Cowboy cocksuckers are shots of half Baileys and half butterscotch schnappes. They are the best and most indulgent way for me to get hammered and dance and sing like a fool. They slide down the throat like warm silk straight from a glass... Hmm, I wonder if the SA girls want shots at the meeting tonight?
The last pair of shoes I bought are cherry red five inch open toed 'I Love Billies'. They hurt like hell but they look hot! The only drawback is I am already 5ft10" so they make me positively tower over 6ft. Ah, indulgence. I never need an excuse to buy shoes.
Since you've been blogging for 24 hours, I'll have a cowboy in your honour and Anna's ofcourse!
Bronwyn.
(who is going to need a taxi too!)
iowuld need a few drinks but i wuld probalby be like hilary swan k in ps i lvoe u
i pick a heavy metal song acdc and rock it out with a guy
Oooooh, Bronwyn. *drool* I love Baileys, so those sound amazingly decadent. I love incorporating decadence into my drunken wildness LOL.
And your shoes... ooooh they sound lovely! And for shoes like that, towering is okay, right?
;-) I appreciate you having the cowboy! I'm sure he does too *g*
YAY Kim!!! Lets rock out for the rest of the night. Or, well, until I drop, because this has been an amazingly awesome party :-)
