Coming Attractions for April

Posted By Kate

It's April Fool's Day in the Lair! But we're not fooling around! We've got an absolutely fabulous line-up for you this month and you won't want to miss out on one single moment of fun, prizes and general raucous behavior! Here are some of the highlights:

On April 2, Lair favourite, the fabulous Kate Walker, returns for another fun-filled visit to celebrate the release of her latest book, The Proud Wife, and to share some really great news about one of her 2010 releases.

On April 3, Diana Orgain visits us for the first time to chat about the latest book in her Maternal Instincts mystery series, Formula for Murder. As a busy mother of three, she's got some great tips for aspiring writers who can't find the time to write.

April 4 finds Kay Thomas back in the Lair, along with her newest Bulletproof book, Bulletproof Hearts, from Harlequin Intrigue.

On April 6th, Jules Bennett will return to the lair to talk about her April Harlequin Desire release, Her Innocence, His Conquest.

And on April 7, Cheryl Ann Smith talks to Donna about her journey to publication and shares an excerpt from her debut historical, School for Brides. RT Bookreviews says Smith “makes a dazzling entrance to the romance community with a charming, sexy, innovative tale that sparks the imagination.”

Don't miss the fun on April 8! Joan hosts the wonderful Kristan Higgins AND the hero and heroine of her new Harlequin release My One and Only as they play 20 questions.

On April 12, Jeanne interviews Maureen Batita from the popular blog, Romance Writers Revenge. She'll discuss her ebook, The Kraken's Mirror. Yo ho, yo ho!

And on April 19, Dianna Love will join us in the lair to talk about keeping dreams alive, and why she's sponsoring a national art contest based on the book, Blood Trinity.

On April 21, Patricia Rice returns to chat with Nancy about her first direct-to-electronic release, Evil Genius.

On April 25, our favorite witch, Jennifer Lyon, visits to talk about her two new books in the electrifying Wing Slayer Hunter series, Night Magic and Sinful Magic.

Kathleen O'Reilly returns to the Lair on April 26 to chat with Bandita Nancy about her new Blaze, Just Surrender.

There will be a night of scandal and mayhem in the lair when the paparazzi crash the ball celebrating the launch of Midnight's Wild Passion, Anna Campbell’s latest historical romance from Avon. Mark your calendars for hijinks and giveaways on Wednesday, 27th April! You can read the blurb and an excerpt here: http://www.annacampbell.info/wildpassion.html.

And Anna's holding a Midnight Madness contest on her website to celebrate the release of her latest historical romance MIDNIGHT’S WILD PASSION on Tuesday, 26th April. All you have to do is read the excerpt from MWP on her Books page http://www.annacampbell.info/wildpassion.html and tell her what color Ranelaw’s hair is. Email your answer to anna@annacampbell.info The contest closes 30th April 2011. For more details, please visit http://www.annacampbell.info/contest.html.

One more April happening: The RT Book Lovers Convention comes to Los Angeles April 6-10. Are you going? What are you wearing? Tell us everything! And even if you're not going, we can pretend. What fabulous fantasy costume would you wear to the Fairy Ball?

What a lineup for April though!

I'm not attending either, Sheree! As
for a fantasy costume for the Ball,
I've not had a chance to really put
much thought into that as yet. I'll
be back later today when I have had
some sleep and then collected my
thoughts. Good night!

Congratulations on the Golden Rooster!

Happy April. I wish I were attending RT. I think I might put on an adult Tinkerbell costume.

Hey, Sheree, I don't think the rooster is going either so perhaps you can drown your sorrows together ;-) What am I saying? The rooster doesn't need encouragement to drink!

Kate, what a fabulous line-up. Of course, I'm excited about April with a new book out! Can't wait to hold it in my hot little hands - my author copies haven't arrived yet.

Aloha! I'm packing my Aloha shirts, muumuus, leis, and kukui beads for a week of fun at RT!

For those in LA, mke sure you stop by the SOS Table in Club RT (vendor area) for Hawaiian treats. Plus the SOS Military Mixer on Saturday, April 9, 3:30-5 pm (see agenda). The Los Angeles AFB Honor Guard are posting the colors, the barbershop quartet JOLT is singing a special military medley, I am creating a mutlimedia presentition with pictures submitted by readers, and a NYT best selling author has a special surprise for us!

What a great line-up in the Lair this month! As always chock full of favourite authors and some fascinating newbies. I can see my TBR pile growing yet again.

Not going to RT - with NY and Melbourne on my travel plans this year, it's one too many.

Using my fairy magic wand to lose the 20+lbs I need to shed, I can now fit into a hot, red, naughty fairy costume ... kind of like Tinkerbell's but red ;)

Another fabulous lineup in the lair for April! I'm very much looking forward to hearing about all the wonderful new books and, of course, I can't wait to read Midnight's Wild Passion *g*

Hope everyone going to RT has a wonderful time!!

Full out Cinderella mode, if I was going. I found a dress when prom shopping with my two oldest...oh, this dress...my heart stopped. Layers of pale pink tulle and silk, hundreds of tiny gleaming pearls and crystals, and a laced corset back. How I want this dress...My girls just shook their heads, said Mom, we're not toddlers anymore, and headed for the bright, funky colors. So yup, I would buy this dress and wear it to the RT parties.

Wow, Kate, what a great line up for April! I wish I were going to LA for RT but I'm stuck here in the midwest. Where it's gray & slushy & about 40 degrees and will be forever.

Wah.

However, this line up for April brings sunshine to my heart if not my window. :-) Looking forward!

Looks like another fantastic month in the lair!

Not going to RT. Hope everyone who is has a wonderful time. Kim, your booth and entertainment sound fabulous!

Alas, not going, but I can clearly look forward to a delightful month in the Lair!! Enjoy the GR, Sheree!

Kate Carlisle said...

Good morning, all! Happy April Fool's Day! I hope nobody gets fooled today. :-)

Isn't that a fabulous lineup for the month? I can't wait to get started. And I have no idea what I would wear to a fantasy ball but I confess I would love to look like a fairy princess just once. Gillian's pink prom dress sounds perfect for that!

Hey Sheree, congrats on snagging the golden bird!

Kate Carlisle said...

Wow, Kim! Your presentations and the mixer sound fabulous! I wish I could be there to see it. I hope you take lots of pictures and let us know where we can see them. Sounds like you're ready to have a ball!!

Cassondra said...

Sheree! You're not going? Wah.

'Sokay. I'm not going either. *grin*

But you have the rooster for company to console you. ;0)

Hmmm....I think I'd like to go as an elf. I'd have to figure some way to get my ears to be pointy.

Great lineup for April!

Can't wait for our own Anna's book to release and for the visit of all these delicious guests.

Happy April Fool's Day, everyone!

catslady said...

I couldn't get Anna's link to work but np since going to her site works just the same :) Lots of wonderful books coming up this month!

Louisa Cornell said...

Awww Sheree! The GR will console you. Then he'll steal all of your chocolate and the car keys!

I'm not going this year, but I hope to make it in the next couple of years.

I would definitely need a trunk to carry my costumes for all of the balls and events!

I wish I had the costume I wore as Queen of the Night! Black with silver, gold and blue stars and lightning. LOVED it!

I would definitely need to to lose some weight to dress like a fairy. I'd look more like one of the dancing hippos from Fantasia!

Really looking forward to April in the Lair and the blowout bash for the release of La Campbell's book. I hear the cabana boys are already shaking in their boots!

Anna Campbell said...

Sorry, girls! Don't know what happened there. I've put in the correct email addy - just copy and past in an email and it should get to me. Good luck!

What a fantastic line-up for April. Forget about people to see, I've definately will be spending my time reading intead!

I'm already designing a special gown
for the Fairy Ball. It will be a sleek
silver lame, floor-length gown with long sleeves and tiny iridescent, rainbow-colored wings. (Note I said "sleek"- that will be due to careful usage of my fairy wand, disposing of another 20 pounds.) I will be attending the Ball as a " Fairy Grandmother." I haven't decided on shoes as yet, but they will be outstanding!

I so want to attend RT and RWA, but living in Ohio seems to be close to nowhere this year. :(
