Fireworks Month in the Lair

by Nancy

July is a big month in the lair with lots of fabulous guests. We're excited to have so many authors visiting to liven up the summer doldrums. We're also celebrating the launch of RITA-nominated Christine Wells's third book.

Tomorrow, July 2, the fabulous Stacey Kayne will be here to discuss her latest release, Mountain Wild, book 3 in her Wild series!

On Friday, 3rd July, debut Berkley author Kandy Shepherd visits the lair as Anna Campbell's guest to talk about her hilarious and romantic contemporary romance LOVE IS A FOUR-LEGGED WORD. Isn't that the greatest title? You'll love meeting Kandy and joining in the conversation about romance books, dogs, her road to publication and chocolate brownies.

On 6 July, DeAnna Cameron will swing by the lair to chat with Christine Wells about her debut novel from Berkley, THE BELLY DANCER.

The next day, on 7 July, we celebrate the release of Christine Wells's WICKED LITTLE GAME.

Christine Wells has joined with Jennifer Haymore, author of A Hint of Wicked, to offer a wicked prize pack to one lucky reader. See Christine's website http://www.christine-wells.com/contact-christine-wells.html for details.

On July 8, Kirsten will have the fabulous New York Times Bestselling Author ALYSSA DAY in the Lair to discuss not one but two of her steamy Warriors of Poseidon books -- Atlantis Unleashed and Atlantis Unmasked.

Kimberly Raye visits with Tawny on July 12 about sex scenes (like the wildest place you've ever done it).

July 13 brings Love Inspired author Renee Ryan back to The Lair as Joan's guest to talk about twins and her new title “Hannah’s Beau.”

We have a mid-month lull in visitors, with many of the banditas traveling to or from Washington, D.C., for RWA National. We will be blogging as usual, though, so do stop in and see what we’re up to! On July 19, I'm giving away a surprise package (to me, too, since I don't have them yet) of books from the RWA conference.

Marie Force joins Aunty Cindy on July 27.

On July 29, Jo will be hosting return guest and NY Times best-selling novelist Brenda Novak who will be talking about time management and giving away a copy of her latest book. THE PERFECT COUPLE, the fourth book in the Last Stand series. The Perfect Couple releases on July 28!

Erotic romance writer Delilah Dawson will visit the Lair on July 30, as Jo's guest. Be sure to drop by the visit with this naughty writer, who'll be giving away one of her latest books to a lucky commenter.

Kimmyl, congrats on nabbing the very tired and elusive rooster. He cut out before the cleaning started last night (of course), but I'm glad to hear he is safe and sound with you.

kimmyl, way to grab the bird!

Virginia, so glad to see you out of lurk!

Jane, July is always rocking in the Lair, as you know. I'm sure this year will be no different!

Eva, we are always happy to help other readers find their way to great authors. Good thing we know so many! *g*

Helen, love, I can't wait for Christine's book to come out, either! Great fun for all of us.

What a fantastic line-up! I can't wait!!

Congrats on nabbing the GR, Kimmy. He needs some TLC after yesterday's reunion ;-)

Another month of great books!

I'm particularly looking forward to Wicked Little Game and even more excited to learn that Christine has finished Jardine and Louisa's story.

Hooray!! What an excellent month to look forward to! Thanks, everyone!

Kimmyl, congrats on taking home the rooster! I'm excited about this month. I think we're going to have a lot of fun.

Once we get the feathers out of here.

Nancy said...

Virginia, I'm certainly hoping the rooster's too tired to make trouble for a while.

His picture could go in the dictionary by the definition of "ego." I"m kinda glad I'm not related to him.

Sorry you've been so busy, but I hope it was a fun kind of busy. It's always nice to "see" you.

Jane, it's hard for me to believe the summer is already half over. July in the South is hot and muggy, and that weather pattern has hit with a vengeance, alas.

Cybercliper said...

Wow, July is going to be a great month for new reads and author interviews...looking forward to it very much...thanks

Nancy said...

Everybody, please do check back on the 19th. Most of us will be traveling, but we'll pop in as we can. There'll be a post up as usual. Also, I'm making up a package of books from RWA--no idea what they are yet, probably one or two of the freebies and a couple from the signing--to give away that day.

Nancy said...

Eva, thanks for stopping in. I love having guests, but they do tend to make the TBR pile grow. :-)

Nancy said...

Hi, Helen--we're all looking forward to Christine's launch. I'm also looking forward to the RITA and GH ceremony. I always enjoy these things more when I don't have a dog in the hunt, so to speak. The lair will be rooting hard, which is to say loudly *g*, for Christine and KJ and our buddies who're nominated.

Hmm. I was never one of the rowdy girls before I became a bandita.

As for the GR and conference, I shudder to think! Somehow, I doubt yesterday reduced his considerable and reckless self-esteem. I just hope he doesn't get us into trouble. He caused quite a stir at the bandita gathering in a San Francisco restaurant last year.

Nancy said...

Junebug, why am I not surprised that the GR did not help with cleanup? Sven read that post, snorted, and said, "Of course he didn't!" Followed by other comments that weren't printable.

Good luck today, kimmyl!

Nancy said...

Caren, speaking of conference (you didn't, but others did), are you taking the jacket Joanie loves?

Nancy said...

Hi, Beth--gonna be a fun month, isn't it?

Nancy said...

Blodeuedd, that really is a gorgeous cover, isn't it?

Nancy said...

Janga, I hope to score a copy of Wicked Little Game today. I've been ready for it since reading the sneak peek in the back of The Dangerous Duke, so I've been waiting a while!

Nancy said...

Cybercliper, your sunset picture is gorgeous! I love sunsets. If there are a few clouds in the sky, the setting sun does wonderous things to the colors.

And I love that magic few minutes, as the sun starts to sink, when its angle turns the light golden and gilds the trees and bushes.

Sunrise is great, too, but it comes a little early for my taste. :-)

jo robertson said...

Great line up, Nancy! Although I'm not sure July needs any more "heat" LOL.

PJ said...

Looks like another terrific month in the lair!

Treethyme said...

I'm clicking away, ordering the books you've just mentioned (except for the ones I've already pre-ordered). This is a dangerous place to visit.

Congrats on the GR, kimmyl!

Nancy said...

Jo, I agree with you! At least in this part of the country, July is always hot. And the great array of guests and books includes some that'll surely turn up the heat.

Nancy said...

Hi, PJ--I think it'll be a fun month. Thanks for stopping in.

Nancy said...

Treethyme, my TBR pile definitely grows faster because of all our guests. Discovering a new author is always fun, but my reading always lags because there's just so much of it anymore. I'm acquiring faster than I can read.

Once upon a time, when life was less busy, I read faster. *sigh*

Joan said...

Bwahahahahahaa.....

Another convert......

Looks like a great line-up for July! I'll be checking in often.

Anna Campbell said...

Wow, that's one cool month coming up! Thanks for putting the post together in such spectacular style, Nancy.

Kimmy, have you ever had a rooster visit for the day before? I hope he's behaving!

I'm really sour I missed the reunion. It was an amazing day in the lair! I had to go away and I didn't have computer access. Anyway, the lair is now scattered with hungover chooks sleeping off their excesses. I keep tripping over foul fowl. Not to mention the occasional turkey!

hrdwrkdmom aka Dianna said...

This is going to be another exciting month for sure. The ever growing TBR pile will have to make room for more I see.

Karin said...

Wow. What a great line up for this month. I'm hoping to be able to pop by at least a few times now that things have calmed down at work and my classes seem to be going okay.

Nancy said...

Yes, JT, y'all have converted me to rowdiness.

Of a discreet, genteel sort. *g*

Nancy said...

Gerri, we hope it's going to be a fun month, both here in the Lair and in the temporary DC Lair.

It's kinda like having multiple Batcaves.

Nancy said...

Anna, thanks. We're sorry you missed yesterday, too. Aside from the odd birds hanging around, I'm a little worried because the gladiators and the cabana boys (especially) seem very stressed. I popped in late last night, and the place was a wreck, with neither Demetrius's crew nor Sven's around. And feathers everywhere.

And the wine cellar--someone really seriously depleted our stock.

Nancy said...

Dianna, ain't it the truth about the TBR pile? Every month adds to mine.

Nancy said...

Karin, I hope work and school stay settled and that we'll see you from time to time. We try to have fun around here.

Though the Lair looks as though SOMEone had little too much fun yesterday.

Nancy said...

Estella, thanks. I hope you enjoy the lineup!

Demetrius has been....occupied.

*wink*

Fantastic post, Nancy! I'm SO excited about July.

Not least because I get to see so many Banditas and BBs at Conference. Woohoo!

Oh, my goodness!

It's going to a great month with
some really outstanding guests!
I look forward to visiting with
them all! I see that one of my
favorites, Casey Kahne(OOPs, that
should read Stacy Kayne!) will be
visiting tomorrow. I'll see you all then!!
